My boss seems to think that most of the web is on dial up, i need something to prove him wrong. Any URL's, for web standards, or statistics that are free?
Help!

I think thats a different kind of web standard.
Jsut because people have broadband, shouldn't mean your site can be bloated...
The smaller it is the faster it is, whatever connection you are on.
Hope that doesn't sound 'off' but it's what I think.

Connection speed isn't something that is measured by standard HTTP server logs --- it takes a bit of scripting to make it happen, so the answer is more of a survey demographic than a statistic. The answer also heavily depends on where you're asking from --- different demographics in USA vs Europe vs Japan, etc.
More importantly might be who is the target market for your website, and are people more likely to access it at home or at work. Your boss is likely right that 65+% home connections are 'narrowband' but 65+% office connections are broadband.
Here's one stat:

V, the last 2 paragraphs of that story are great and worth noting: A lot of regular people see NO need and have no desire for broadband. They use the internet to check email or sports scores, etc. and don't see a fast connection to the web as something worth $50 a month. The idea that broadband will reach 90% of households anytime soon is not realistic --- too many people don't even want it.
