V, the last 2 paragraphs of that story are great and worth noting: A lot of regular people see NO need and have no desire for broadband. They use the internet to check email or sports scores, etc. and don't see a fast connection to the web as something worth $50 a month. The idea that broadband will reach 90% of households anytime soon is not realistic --- too many people don't even want it.
