Next Big Thing? Predicitons?

So we started out on the web with only text and a few images, added horrible tiled backgrounds, then drop shadows, gradients, then gel effects and now raised/brushed metal effects everywhere.
So what's the next overused trend for internet graphics? Personally, I predict plaid.

Why not guess what good things the web will bring. Stop focusing on the shit we know we'll see anyway?
How about Flash on phones and PDAs, but better and with video. Better video with Flash, better and more Shockwave 3D.

why dont your just try and do something original rather than moaning in anticipation of a trend, following a trend when its in its early days and then moaning about how 'played out' it is.

the next big thing will be building interiors 'painted' with a plasma-screen type liquid that forms a thin membrane when dry. Imagine sitting in your living room, pressing a button and suddenly being on top of a mountain, in a club, or under the sea. The death of wallpaper, paint schemes, monitors, etc etc. Wahey!!
