just got back from 4 days of riding on Sunday River, Maine.
Wouldn't say they were the best conditions but it was fun to get out again.I recommend spending the most on a nice pair of boots. Do some research, try some on at local shops and really find the best pair that fit your feet. I ride a Salomon board and boots, brand spankin new Burton Ronin jacket(love it already), four square pants and gloves. Kind of a picked up piece by piece as the years went by.
I stress the good pair of boots not just based on past experience but this week my boots sucked ass. I'm pretty sure its the liners that are worn out, but my feet were killing me for the last couple days which took some of the fun out of it.
the most important thing is to have fun and leave the attitude at home.

sounds like your boots packed out IRN...how old are they?...do you get heel lift in them?
i have a pair of salomon malamutes from 2 years ago...love em alot but they're packing out now...i can really tell the difference when i put on my new boots...but the new boots hurt like hell still.

I have the same pair. I put some RED boot liners last year and I think they finally wore out. I'm getting a new pair of liners and I'm going all out and custom molding them. If that doesn't work, I'm definetly getting some new boots soon.
Hows the snow been up in Canada?

I got the solomon dialogues last christmas and really didn't get to use them enough the two weeks I was in colorado so they fucking killed me feet, but were amazingly warm...I was getting a bit of heelift so I am going to get custom moulded liners and see if that helps...it doesn't help that I have bad circulation and my toes get numb realy easily...

Bah yeah I love burton, they do make quailty gear, and they have done alot for the sport, but you wanna talk marketing, Forum snowboards was founded on marketing, my buddy has had 3 forums and a geenyus, which is made in the forum factory, and he likes them there fun, for jibb'n cause there soft they noodle out mad fast, he'll be the first to step up and say there shit.
Rome is a relativly new company but hey hey, there made by x burton kids. oh and with Burton's blessing
Ride and Morrow are owned by K2. And well K2's fall apart
Option's canadian pride and tough as nails, but not the most responsive.
Gnu never tried one but have heard good things have some weird mutant wood cores
Never Summer again never tried but heard they have really good warrenty and a tough core
Rossi and Head, are alright but there a ski company blah
Capita are overpriced and use forum tech.
A snowboards, use to be good years ago but have gone down hill not to sure about why.
Prior are decent they make custom boards and arn't to bad
Step Child there pretty good, you know Boozy will make quality goods. Not sure but I think there made in the option factory. But I'm not positive
so there's the skinny on most of the popular board barnds.

i have a project that needs to be done by the 14th, but i'm hoping to get it done by the 10th, hop in my buddies car later that night, be in breckenridge by the next afternoon! Haven't even been able to ride my new board yet this year... good things heard about the gnu altered genetics? here's to hopin' it rocks as much as people say:-)
also, check out http://academysnowboards.com
my friend tommy did their site and my old friend matt p rides for them... Solid quality.
- jevad0
nice link mr. p
where are you driving from to get to breck?
Just my 2 cents but conditions there are still pretty whack...not a great base and starved of the snow that vail and winterpark/copper are getting.
I know vail is a bit more moolah...but it's 50 times the quality that breck is...

st paul MN... thing is, a couple of my buddies from here already planned to go there and set up the lodging and all... i'm just going if i get the project done on time. i'd personally love to go to vail or WP, but alas i'm sorta at the whim of others:-
aren't you out in CO now? are you in the denver area or near there?

Going early March yee-ha!ps I like Forum and Burton stuff, some nike gear's nice too.

I've been to Tignes which shares the same slopes as Val d'Isere, it rocks, definitely one of my favourite areas to go boarding.
- josimarX0
woohoo.
I was in meribel years ago which was beautiful but expensive. There'll be plenty of snow though in March won't there dstlb?

You should be fine for snow in March, especially if you're going earlier in the month, I was there a couple of years ago at the end of March / start of April and it was great. It's really high up and it's got a glacier so you can't go far wrong*
*Don't quote me on that, it is still Europe so anything can happen ;)
- jevad0
hey pea - sounds like your friends are all sorted so ignore me! Hope it blasts the snow down right before you get there...
Not in Denver yet - my wife is leaving tomorrow as she starts a new job on the12th but I don't leave London until the end of Jan.
