it's not that bad is it save hon? When was the last time you compiled all your work? I bet you've done more good stuff than you'd think.

It does get better, but you really have to stick with it. There'll be a lot of times when you'll get really pissed off and just feel like a monkey following the clients deands. It'll improve, you've only just started your career....

do something else then fella if the flame's gone out.

Well, to tell you the truth vespa, its only recently I've been compiling all my work, and I'm really happy with it. Probably about 60% of it is utter wank, and would never show anyone, but the rest I'm really pleased with. Its just I go through long patches where i think I'm only designing shit, and I always forget about the odd nice job I did....my website will also be online very soon.

everyone is the same that way, I'm always surprised when I update my stuff and realise I've actually done some good work, it's too easy to focus on the everyday crap!

So true vespa.
Its only cos I'm wanting to move I need to do my portfolio. I was really surprised when it all started to come together.....

good good - chin up duck, there are plenty of waaaaay shitter jobs we could be stuck in!
- save0
Thats what I think everyday...
I did my fair share of really shitty jobs when I was at college, and this is farrrrr better.
cheers vespa

ooh ooh what was your shittest job in college? I had a shitlist of a cv to rival the worst of them when I was studying. The cleaning toilets part of my job at a seedy late night pool club was up there I've gotta say. Nearly as good as getting urine soaked cigarette butts out of the mens urinals at a shit cafe at the end of a shift.
Well actually my best friend did better, she was doing phone bone for a while!

do you live to work or work to live
have a life outside of design, we are not gods and so we wear out of creating. enjoy what God has created

1) shelf stacker
2) cleaner in a abattoir
3) clenaer in a sausage factory
4) barman in the roughest nightclub I've ever witnessed in my life, a fight every 15mins
5) barman in the roughest 'pub I've ever witnessed in my life. Had one guy who use to just stand at the bar calling me f-ing this and f-that for no reason. Plus the drinkers use to throw cigartte butts and the landlords pitbull and it use to catch and eat them...

Cleaner in a sausage factory? Is that another name for phone bone?

I was a postman, dug ditches for cable telly and unloaded Bananas off boats at Avonmouth docks before i even considered being a designer. I got onto a Digital Art course becuase I filled out my UCAS form incorrectly in the back of a van coming back from playng a gig in Brighton.

Sweet. I showed up at a teaching interview once cos I didnt know what I had applied for.
Q: Why do you want to become an art teacher?
A: Well, er, my art teachers are crap, I think I could do a much better job than any of them...
I was actually given a place in the second round of applicants.
