but davetufts, they are not showing him, they are showing 2 spoiled brats that spend money like crazy without any appreciation for it. This is what's wrong with that picture. As far as the comment about that musicians work hard, I'd have to agree only to a certain degree. The ones that are made in the last 5 years they are nothing, a product of someone who found them. I'm not talking about Sting, Rolling Stones etc. It was very hard then to become someone. Now, you have tits, asses, computers that give them nice voices and they have everything. The only thing they have to do is drag their asses where they are told. What's hard about that?

for every musician you see who is making loads of cash there are thousands who work damn hard with no hope of ever making money out of it. and in fact i'd even argue that pop shite like britney etc have to work pretty hard.

boz does makes good points but I think the point of the show/marketing strategy is the opposite. They are showing these kids to show how abnormal their lives are. The only ones who think their lives are normal are those 2 girls and people like those two girls. Because most of us can't relate to buying a pair of $400 shoes it "makes it interesting" It is easy press and word of mouth spreads like crazy cause majority of people can't relate. They make the show for next to nothing...they get great ad dollars during the show and laugh all the way to the bank. Sensationalizing. If it was about normal hard working joes it would be educational but would make as much easy money for MTV and that is what they are about. They don't care about how it makes people feel or effects society. Money. The osbournes proved it and this show will too.

regarding jox and others talking about the drinking age:
what matters with that isn't whether people think the drinking age is right or not.
what matters is that the drinking age being 21 is the LAW, and regardless of what someone thinks, and regardless of the laws in other coutries, it is irresponsible for a broadcaster to show it, even if it does exist.You wouldn't see a show depicting 14 and 15 year olds driving, would you?
You wouldn't see a show about 17 year olds forging birth certificates to join the military, would you?
What about a show about underage girls trying to get abortions without parental consent?All those things happen, and have happened before.
All Illegal.So why is drinking the one thing that people are so lax on?
And what does their drinking on the Rich Girls show tell underage kids? That it's a privelege to them because of the wealth? That because it's on TV it's okay?

Thats what I thought was weird on the Osbournes..jack and kelly drank all the time and are under age...nothing happened to them.
alcohol advertiser can promote anywhere too. they aren't forced not to advertise to kids. They always show alcohol commercials during college sporting events. and no one says anything.

What about Ambrocombie? Using sex in their promotions? It is easy press..again..lots of atttention...because it gets so much attention kids are even drawn to it more because some many are bitching about it...sorry got off topic...i will go back to work now...
