Not that I've seen this show, but people do need to think for themselves for once. Rich people are everywhere, all the time and if a 14 yo mid-class girl gets low self-esteem from watching a couple of brats buying some shit on TV, his/her self-esteem was bad already. You can't ban things because of jealousy.
Jesus crist, who cares? Thats what life is all about, earn your way every step and don't fucking whine.
I do, however hate kids with their daddy's gold credit card, but that's beside the point.
And seriously, you think it's scary to watch 18 yo's drinking? WOW, you haven't been abroad, dude. The US drinking laws is the scary part...twenty-fucking-one?? An 18 yo is allowed to decide who should be the next president, but can't get a glass of wine? And you can drive at 16.. hmm, now that's just not right.

what a dumb show...hbo has a show like this too but I don't know the name. There is also one I am not sure what channel it is on but has two rich teenagers (one I think is Lionel Richies daughter) and they live their lives of luxuary to live on a farm.

The whole point behind these shows is the tendency of rich people to try to show themselves as normal people, which is pretty pathetic because they have nothing in common with regular people. I mean I'm not jealous about someone who has millions, on the contrary it inspires me to work harder to get there, but what they are showing on TV is not well earned wealth but totally stupid and privileged rich people who got their wealth thanks to someone else. MTV, hm, is all about that. Just look at the shows they have, Punk'D (This one is actually funny), Cribs, Rich Girls and the list goes on.
Pretty pathetic I must say. Instead of showing some real business people that educated themselves, made their wealth out of their own sweat, they show illiterate music artists, spoiled kids and so on. This is why MTV is bad. It's not positively influential, it doesn't show how hard work is rewarded, it just shows the spending part of everything. Very bad.

- most people are too cool to have a TV
- if they do have a TV, they're too cool to watch MTV
- if they've watched MTV, Rich Girls sucks and part of MTV master plan that first involved popularize alternative culture (to get the college crowd's buy in) and now heroify wealth.
- those who have watched Rich Girls more than once can't wait for them to become poor girls (Hillfiger is not going to 'loose a fortune on the stock market' in your lifetime...)
