Hello everybody! On my day off I was fired, and over the phone to top it off. Was at the company for 3 years and they made me pull my site down. What a great way to start off the week. Trust no one.

where do you live?
and why'd they make you take your site down?
- ian0
Man, that sucks ass. What was the deal with the site?
- rasko40
I would be seriously planning some hideously deep psychological level revenge possibly involving high levels of public humiliation and insects.

I'am from atlanta. I was given permission to use exemples of work ive done for the company on my portfolio site. Now the creative director decides that it is a breech between any client they had and the company. Fucking shady.
Not to mention that 4 people have been cleaned out of that creative department in the past 2 months.

Anonymous phone call to the DEA.
"They're hiding heroin in the computers. And snorting crack in the boardrooms."

put your portfolio up on a new site that they don't know about.
fire you and make it hard for you to find new work by griping about your portfolio. some fucked up shit.

Yeah, I flipped out. seriously almost got in my car and went in there. Until friends from work brought over some bourbon.

Keep your site up mate.
Contact the clients you did the work for and ask for their permission.
Tell your old boss to poke it!

fucking bastards!! seriously, big BS. Where did you work may I ask. I am pretty good at fucking with people.
- ********0
pulled your site down? I would have pulled my pants down and mooned their fucking heads. ;)

I mean so what the hell I am supposed to do now? I need to show my stuff and they are saying i cant put it up! Thats 3 years worth of work. Is there really any legal action they can take?
- ian0
Yup, if its work you've produced than you should be able to use it. And while you're at it try to poach as many of their clients as possible.
Then go over there and spray their office in shit.
Or call the DEA, that was a damn fine idea!

give me their phone number I have a royal trick I can play on them and it will not be funny.

man i dont think i would take down shit. all i did when i started looking for a job was put a little copyright symbol and then the name of the company that i was working for. of course if you are worried about doing even that, then make your folio section of the site password protected and give the password to only the possible employers.
dig it.
sorry to hear about that shit happening. dont forget that you have 2 middle fingers and that using them both at once can be a very liberating experience.
enjoy the bourbon.

I'am afraid to even whisper their name for the fear that men draped in long black coats bust through my door and take me away. I mean this is ridiculous.
- rasko40
they wont take you to court, the judge would laugh in their face.. leave your site up and tell them to fuck right off and leave you to find some work so you can pay your rent.
And then start planning the insect revenge ;)
- algorithm0
Good idea Bio. thanks. Iam going to put it back up.
Dig the pik. My sentaments for the week.
- Bio0
listen to the man.
insect revenge will be sweet to the taste.
- algorithm0
insects....I like that

if you did the work and they said you could have it up, you have had a verbal agreement, just make sure that on the site it says it was done for companyX.
as long as they are getting theiir own props they wont have much of a case against you
