wow! How about we all have a big fat cry over everyone not thinking the same and then get over it.
Group hug everybody?

Hell yeah cookie...that's the way it should be...Mac without PCs is like PCs without Macs :) hahaha..it's just doesn't work, both sides need each other to shit all over :) and in the end having both will cost an arm and a leg :)

Boys even though I would really like to have a cool looking Mac on my desktop I have to admit that the price difference is just too much. Phew, I guess might start with iMac 17" G4 and then take it from there. I mean Panther and cool looks are not worth extra 2-3 grand.
PC still stays as my primary workstation. Having iMac will be just as nice. :)

I haven't read the entire thread, but the software for PC and Mac are the same price. Not to mention the amazing free iApps.
And for a high end machine the Macs aren't that much more the a PC equivalent. Plus you can get a nice laptop (ibook 15") for $1500 and that's not bad.
Also isn't a Mac a lot cheaper when your PC is hacked and trashed by some virus because your operating system has a hole bigger than a porn star?

STB, look at my post above yours. Look at the link. And the XP security is on a much better level now. Also I use Norton AV Pro with automatic updates and never ever had a virus on my computer.

the saddest thing is that you losers are still arguing about this. if he wants to use Mac then good for him. why feel the need to defend PC's? he didn't insult them. he just said he preferred Mac. you people need to get a grip.

I don't think that comparison holds up very well.
*1.6 Ghz vs 2 Mac (that's a big difference)
*you get two clunky monitors vs two styley flat panels
*232 GB harddrive vs 500 GB harddrive (more than twice the drive space)
*and a Plextor (who?) drive vs Superdrive...i bet if you souped the PC up to the exact specs of the Mac, the price tag would be about the same.
But whatever, to each their own.

well said greedo. but i think the pc would be more. also you dont have to buy apple monitors. that will bring the mac down more.

Guys please don't place remarks like that when you don't know about components. First of all 2 NEC Diamontron Flat CRT are amazing monitors. Second Plextor is the Mercedes in CD/DVD/CDR/DVDR industry, the DVDR drive is 8x speed if you haven't noticed. Third, 2 Raptor HDDs that spin at 10k speeds will blow everything out of the water and btw, I could have used the same drives on a PC as well and the price would be lower or at least the same then the setup I have now. Fourth, the video card is All-in-Wonder with 128 mb. Fifth, yes Apple LCDs cost more, I used them because that's how you buy Macs and that's how Apple sells them. I've seen very few people that go and buy CRTs on Macs. Finally even if I included amazing Samsung 173T LCDs with the same specs as Apple monitors the price would go up to about $900 more for the whole configuration and that's still around $1300-$1500 less then Apple.
