My roommate loves Death Cab too, but is getting sick of me playing it so much. I LOVE the new album!!! Can't wait to see them in concert!

I'd love to see the pics Bio.
They were here in Jax last Tuesday, but it was sold out and I didn't have tix.... shoulda got on my a$$ and gotten up to the place when it was announced because I knew it'd be crowded. Oh well.. least I got to see The Appleseed Cast 2 days earlier.
I started a thread about Transatlanticism a few weeks ago. Ben's songwriting is as strong as ever, but the production isn't as "quirky" as "We Have the Facts"... it's abit too slick for me, but I'll still listen.
It's funny, I like "The Sound of Settling", it's just great pop, and suiting to Ben's voice, just as much as his quieter more introspective moments.
I've also never thought of them as emo myself, then again I'm thinking more in musical terms I guess... there's not much extreme-loud/soft/extreme loud as I normally associate with emo, nor stacatto guitar (although the photo album had a few) and odd rhythm combinations.

transatlanticism is definitly a far cry from their older stuff. but i dont feel that it is any better or worse in terms of musical / lyrical content. it is simply the evolved state.
production is much better now because they have learned a lot about how to get the sounds they want. and as far as their music being quirky. . . they are pretty straight forward in everything. though at one point in the show, ben was beating his guitar with a drum stick and then he started shreiking into it. that was during the song Transatlanticism. the shreiking was incredible. it made a very erie atmosphere to what is a beautiful song. fucking incredible.
ben seems to be getting more and more into a weird pop sound, but i think that it is really pretty cool. the Postal Service is more pop than deathcab will ever be.
i personally think that the guy goes to the bathroom and shits out masterpiece after masterpiece. so many side projects, solo shit and collaborations that i can hardly keep up.
anyway, there is my rambling and mostly pointless explanation of. . . "things".
hehe. and yea, the show was very packed. had to put a mean look on my face and puff up just to get close to the stage. =D
