frankly, i like horizontal scrolling....this POV shit is terrible....with exceptions....i mean, metal gear was a great contribution for the original playstation

The vast majority of video games these days are very base.
Typically the only problem solving of challenge lies in the killing of other simulated people. That's pretty terrible.

yeah- a majority are based on killing people, and so it has always been the case.
though there are far more innovative and exciting games today then there was 10 years ago. (though ofcourse there are far more awful games as well)
to be able to jump on a boat and sail around to various islands to complete quests in the latest zelda was damned impressive.
read about how the new doom III is going to play? and the sound? wow. What about fable? and that REZ game? etc etc...
this 'playstation' generation will grow and and scoul at their younger gamers playing their 'terrible' virtual reality kits.

when I was a kid buying atari games I knew that pong and pele's soccer were almost exactly the same (but one was vertical and one horizontal) but I still bought the different cartridges!
