<---------- Windows Longhorn is fucking hideous. Haha.
The truth is, I just prefer the MAC environment. I've been a PC user all my life (I can do what I want to get done on either platform) and I'm moving over to a dualie when it arrives tommorow. I find that i get more work done in less time despite the difference in speed and sometimes you're paying that kind of premium for an OS that is really much more intuitive, imo.

"I find it easier doing my stuff (mainly Flash) at the moment on PC... simply becasue I can keep track of how 90 percent of users will see it, rather than just 10 percent... "
i agree flash is easier on a peecee, but .swfs are cross-platform compatible (look the same on mac or peecee) right?..i thought this was an advantage of flash sites v. html ones....

Well, older Mac machines, and even newer ones, hell, tend to run flash much more slowly--but apparently Macromedia cleaned that all up with the new player release. I'll believe it when I see it.

RE: Longhorn comment
What you see in the mocks are just that. Just as they did with xp, they work with a temporary design until the functionality is satisfactory. then they incorporate more design. You likely wont see anything that resembles the final release until 6 months to a year before RTM.

I use a pc because i can build 2 for the price of one mac. so i get new computers as they come out instead of holding my breath for macs release cycle.
A perfect world..... OSX on PC!

Okay, if you add "with Apple industrial design" and we've got a deal on the perfect world stuff. ;)

Think of it like this... The generals of war often had polished ornate weapons (swords and pistols) but they suck for battle. they looked real bad-ass, but they were orniments. effective weapons for war usually dont look that shiek or fancy but they work really well.
its just an analogy, but i look at computers the same way.

Exaclty ER, that is why windoze had been trying to mimic mac OS enviroment look and feel since they started.
Im with mac all the way, I dont care if out there there is more people using pc, Im glad they do.
but that to me, doesnt mean anything.
There is more people that eat at mc donald's than in argentinian steak houses, does that mean that mc donalds has better meat?

do it.
less competition.

I'm Argentine. I don't live there now but you should come over on a Sunday--nice house in Jersey, finest meat on planet. ;)

hey rummy just an opinion..
.. but have you considered that the interface might actually help you be more creative..I used to be a die hard windows classic interface user, xp came about I was like yuk..! I still used the classic theme..
for some strange unexplained reason.. when I styled my xp interface to emulate a mac, Im suddenly more productive.. no joke..
forget the ram hogging crap.. put some more ram in that pc or get a mac and enjoy it!
and dont worry none of this will screw up your colour perception.

it's weird, i was total mac user until i got a pc laptop as a gift, xp wifi and all. now i love it.
i still always have to double laptop tho, mac on right, pc on left (FONTS ARE HELLS OF LAME ON PC) and ipod in between to sort out files.
i share my love with dual custody of both pc/mac now.
BUTT-->am i the only person who wishes i could just turn off ALL FONT SMOOTHING regardless of size on mac osx? damn the smoothing! i want rough! i want system 7 where there is no shadow on the trash can!!
arrrrrh

I think i"ll pick up a g4 laptop and use it for design and use my PC for 3D, Flash, Gaming, and of course...downloading high quality hardcore pornography on line.
:D

Oh yeah, not only that, but OSX is slooowwwww,....so damn sluggish, i wish it was crisp and quick like the classic OS9 or Win XP.
And FlashMX on OSX is torture

Mac's become old fast.

you suck for not switching...i'll never rely on a PC for the bulk of my design
- paulsmith0
I have just made the switch and so far I can't complain.
Adjusting is not that easy but not because of Apple or OS X but because when your used to working on Windows you expect things to go wrong or things to be bad and I think my problem is that things just seem almost too good.
It is just a case of getting used to the differences in the way OSX and XP work but I am getting there.
The best part is that Apple allows you to do things with the press of a few keys on the keyboard where-as Windows makes you click through tones of icons and menus before you do a simple thing like create a folder or empty the trash.
A very happy switcher here! My Dua 2Ghz G5 is sat quietly whispering while I do things that would make XP "blue" in the face (litterally) ;-)

"Mac's become old fast". Why do you say?

Does anyone remember the site that was posted here about 3 months ago and it was a site filled with all of the shortcuts on Mac?
