Ok, i am one of the wierdos that prefers working on PC's (especially for Flash, but that is not the point. The point is Mac has now grown on me! oh my god i love the colors!, i love the way the fonts look,...it's just.......beautifal!! I can't descrive the feeling, even the audio sounds better! It's so pleasant to work on, except there is one thing that bothers me. Why can't i shut off the goddamn Aqua theme??!!! and those stupid resource hogging effects and icons like i can do on windows XP!?!? I understand that The look and feel of Aqua is also a marketing tool, and Apple uses it as it's distinctive"brand", but this is ridiculous, i'm a professional , i don't need the cuteness, it totally screws up my color perception. Thats why i like Windows, its just sterile grey, the interface does not interfere with my work or hog system resources, it just presents my work and that's it. Why are you so restricted now in terms of customizing the interface? What the hell was Apple thinking with OS X? I was ready to go to the Apple store and whip out my Mastercard, but this sucks.
Rant over
- ********0
do it man. MAC is so much more better than PC.
- ********0
nice rant...
few things to look at...
you can defeat the aqua. you can make those traffic lights go away. also a plugin if you like to change themes.
icons. there is nothing like 128 pixel squared high bit. beats windows. low pixel rate/low bit.
http://www.iconfactory.coma mac is just like a wintel box.. you can customize the flavor to suit your needs.
as to your point.. the fonts on the browser are great witht he quartz rendering. on the pc, html fonts above 10 pixels look like shit compared to the fonts in os x. above 10 pix, looks like the web page is in photoshop

i almost switched a couple weeks ago:-)
i bought a dual 1.25 and then sold it a week later (for a profit too! what a way to ditch a mac!)... reasons being:
flash crashed on me a bunch of times when i exported things... but when i transferred the file to my pc it worked fine... anyone know if this has to do with bad actionscripting or something?weird... other than that, i basically loved the machine.
- toastie0
switch!
to linux :)
- ********0
could have been the action script jpea or maybe a bug in the flash program/player itself.
hard to beleive but true that flash was originally develped for a mac
- unknown0
just switch
to transvestite like all mac users
- toastie0

I think it's a fact that Macs are best computers than PC's: Estability, velocity... And, of course, design. Sorry, but it's a fact. I'ver worked all my life with PC and switched two years ago. One of my best decissions in life. Really.
- kpl0
hey sporty, i'm a mac user. lets go fuck.
- sexypixel0
computers are gay
- bhawk0
Whahahaha! |toastie| You tell them. In ten years your G5 will be a 6000 dollar paper weight too. A computer is a computer. I've seen really awsome work from a PC and from a Mac and both, I've said it before and I'll say it again it not the computer it's the person infront of it. But if a Mac makes you fell special. Well aren't you all special... ;)

Oh ya In the infamous words of PE
"Don't believe the hype!"

agree with rummy over the interface.
only eats up RAM.
Adobe programs have these tooltablets that light up when you roll over.... why? Whats the use?
- Meeklo0
All the stuff you complained about the OS you can make it go away..
Just like I did.
when you say, Im a professional, I dont need the cuteness, all this things alter my color perception.
you are VERY wrong.
First of all, Mac monitors all well know to be far better than pc's, more resolution, etc.
And imagine, if you go to a design agency, as a client, and you see that their monitors are being hold toghether with silver tape, there is boogers all over the keyboard.
A slice of cheese on top of the zip drive, and flyes all over the place.
What would you think?I hope is not something like, og its ok this guys dont care about how they look as a company to their clients.. after all they are profesionals..
"I dont need this cuteness, Im a professional" A Graphic designer
That should be a quote on NTB
:)

In other words you're trying to make your Mac like a PC, for twice as much money... cool...
only kidding... I think it's up to you what paltform you use...
I find it easier doing my stuff (mainly Flash) at the moment on PC... simply becasue I can keep track of how 90 percent of users will see it, rather than just 10 percent...
Anyone here rememer when you could get 3rd party Macs, that was a scary time!

i've been a mac user forever, but my company is about to take the macs out of our design department so i'm switching the other way. I've already started to get used to the pc. it's not too bad, but i'd still perefer a mac.
- Mimio0
Same here, Our office is tired of having both platforms all the design workstations are going to PCs. It was sad news.
- ********0
if i'd to switch from mac to PC the company wouldnt make any money on me for the next half a year.
no way josé
