yeah Paul. Just keep looking at good samples and experiementing with layouts. most good designs doesn't happen over night. Everything takes time to nurture and develop.
I've cleaned up number 4 for you.
it ain't great either, but the layout is a lot cleaner.
Play with the layout some more, but you need to clean up your typography before you send the cards off to the printer!

Your name sounds pretty cool Paul and it looks pretty cool too in piper's 4th. You don't need a logo use your name as one.

reduce the point size to 8 for the info 10 for your name. see how that looks printed out.
type on screen just looks smaller than it is.
you are a good sport Blueman. Instead of shrinking back with you tail between your legs you've swallowed your pride in a genuiine interest to learn better design. most of the whiny brats on this board don't have that kind of skin.

good job piper.. why is it that everytiime i do something it doean't work out. It always looks better if someone else does it.
I am getting two books about type as we speek. So once i get them i'm going to read them and redo my card and then i'll post them up for your critique.

I know that I said that I would post my new attempts in a while but i just couldn't wait for the books. They are on the way but I still worked on a bunch of design today and wanted your oppinions on them.
