jevad: "yeah - good point rasko "
not to step on toes, but thats no real point at all. Why does it appear that way. some real feedback here would help pancake a lot better. Lets tell him WHY things appear to someone, one way or another.

I agree, but that is what they're looking for in a brand. They want just a little of the slickness of a design agency to impress the engineer minds while staying on the conservative side.
More info?
The go into companies like http://zf.com that's making a pitch to Benz and re-work and design the presentation with audio, video to blow their doors off and get the contract.
Advanced powerpoint crap and Director.

show some applied usage and an idea of the brief / usage etc then we can give more analytical feedback - as it stands I can only afford to be superficial.
saying 1 or 6 or whatever is purely superficial aswell, I stick by my initial 'consumer' comment.

ok, thanks pancake, I'll try and get back with something more constructive later. (busy)

I'd say the all lack some sort of "identity." there is nothing there in the content of the word or its presentation that is identifiable, either literally or thematically. there is nothing that delineates these type treatments from any other.
I would advise thinking about the service they provide as much as the image (in terms of vernacular) they want to lead with. and develop a concept for the identity, something that it will confer on the audience

As an advertiser, I get what you're saying. But when trying to develop something that has an international and long lasting feel, I can't help but think that most of the logos people recognize out there do not have this.
I just don't want it to be dotcom hokey.
I think the conceptual part will come in the use in ads, web, stationary. I plan on using elements to support that are not directly tied to the logo or nameplate I guess I should start calling it.

In all honesty, #1 is absolutely the best at first glance, and seems to have all sorts of wonderful possibilities as far as branding goes, and developing the rest of the identity. I love the box. Don't get rid of the box.
My second favorites (tie) are 3 and 6. 6 almost has the edge, due to the fact that it seems like it would be longer-lasting than 3. As far as 6 goes, I know it's the font's fault, but the s in schok seems just slightly too tall for the rest of the type.

I dont think that is the right approch at all. no one says make it "dot-com" or trendy, give it some substance, some content. Pick a host of the best logos out there and then decide why they are the best... timeless in approach, concept, flexibility, etc...

Any examples?
I'm just looking for help and ideas.
