Amazing.
A bigger battle than in the second one.
Cant wait till december to watch it.
- JazX0
yeah I am waiting for that battle sequence alone.

I got it, and I wish I hadn't because now I'm frothin at the mouth for more. I hope PJ pulls this off and makes it even better than the first two.
Have you read the books?

the director should be shot on teh spot -- he should never be given this project as he can't direct anything beyond TV dramas. Such great story brought down to such boring experience!

Any chance comeone could post or email me the torrent file? I'd love to check it out.

seriously pr2 ?
i actually didnt mind it.
what did you hate ?
- pr20
The difference btween TV dramas and movies is that movies have (besides obviosly bigger budget) lots of air to breath -- the way they are shot, the difference in shots (closeup, medium and wideshots) while TV mostly offers closeups and (rarely) mediumshots. it's much more claustrophobic with TV dramas (and i don't only mean the aspect ratio of the screen). LotR was shot as if it was for TV. Lots of closeups with a few wideshots here and there - everything then edited as if those wide shots didn't even belong there. And the acting... why is it that CG generated Golum was the best actor there? And the constant rambling... They never did anything they just spoke.
I understand that it's a huge project and making movies is damn hard in the first place but the way this one was told is way under average.

hmmm ....good points.
what do you wish it was more like ?
a movie that exists now for instance ?
or a better choice for director in your opinion.

i think PJ has done an excellent job so far. its good that a LOTR fanboy directed it rather than some big name director who read the book maybe once.
- pr20
Scorsese did a great job in Gang of NY portraying regular character in the turmoil of world affairs... This gay can't make a bad movie.
Lately i was rewatching Last of the Mohicans by Michael Mann and this movie is just briliant -- history is writen by future generations while real life is never that straught forward.
Luc Besson is great with characters going against all odds.
Even Spielberg -- although then an under weaven plot of great politics that don't care about little people wouldn't be present as in the case of the previous 3.
...Just a few.

is there an url to the trailer?

Spielberg? dude, you can't be serious. I'd hate to see LotR turn into soapy americana-drameh he usually does. Mann again- I don't think he has the competence to direct something as epic as LotR. IMO Peter Jackson has done wonderful job so far.
You had good points there but I have to say I disagree most of them.
What comes to the amount of dialog.. have you read the books? There's a lot more where it came from, PJ actually had to cut quie a few scenes off the movie to make it under 5 hours or so per episode .

I'm sorry pr2, but Gangs of New York was a pretty damn shithouse movie. There's no chance in hell i would have this director takeover PJ's position.
The first two LOTR movies were great. I think you're TV idea is complete bullshit, but yeh, that's what i think.
Can't wait for ROTK. I'll watch it at the cinemas atleast 3 times.
- jg_20
peter jackson is a good filmmaker. i dont think that anyone here know his past as a gore-filmmaker. have anyone seen BRAINDEAD?
tim burton is a good choice.
but spielberg is stupid senseless, another republican jew... puagh... his films are easy cry dramas. he almost destroyed kubricks last dream.
btw, reducing LOTR to a battle scene looks like poor to me.

Re: pr2
pffft.pJ's first's film " bad taste" is one of the best films ever made, about : aliens come down from outerspace _ they look like a former PM of Aotearoa (New Zealand) to use human meat for food etc... super funny, very tight. - that film fucks u up..
Pj is doing a very tight job on LOTR - " fuck hollywood" RightOn.

I got to throw in as well, Gangs of New York was one of the worst films I have ever seen. Horribly written, terribly edited, and even worse was the acting.
Save Daniel Day Lewis who seemingly can do no wrong in anything.

ooh ooh...i wanna see.
but that link isn't working. Does anyone have an actual mpeg?
- unfittoprint0
any guy that did cult movies like 'BrainDead' and 'Meet the Feebles' and an excellent job on the first two LOTR movies must be have fine director skills.
- Mimio0
The LOTR movies are really nice, I can't fault them one bit. They even go along way to preserve the mystique of the characters. Which I think is a really nice move on the part of the screen writers.
