I think I've still got the trailer on my pc at home, I should be back later tonight, to send it to whoever wants it. The one I have is a little screwy tho, sometimes it seems like the voices don't sync with the moving of the actors lips, but you're crazy for new footage then it's worth it.
It might be worth it to wait till the 26th and rent/buy The Two Towers on dvd... I hear there is a trailer on that, and I'd imagine it's 10x better quality.

I wish there were more movies of this caliber.
Peter Jackson has done an amazing job staying true to the books and every frame of the movie is a work of art.

I hope to never watch another Spielberg movie again in my life.
Wow is that dude ever heavy handed.

C'mon not even Jurassic Park IV?

pr2 is on crack.
bad acting??

i think you guys cynicaly underrate Spielberg. I used to do the same thing, but then i realised that despite hsi stories being shallow etc., but in every of his movies there is a momment whene the viewer experinces really raw human emotions - unfortunately many of you might not see it - after all it's Hollywood and when Hollywood dealt with human emotions?
- pr20
...plus Gangs of NY rocked! I'm sure they had to cut it down thus loosing soem of its impact, yet still it was apowerful movie.
As to LotR being truthful to the book. SOme of u might disagree, but a movie isn't meant to be truthful but to affect us on some level emotionaly, for me LotR failed to do it.
- pr20
oh yeah and Tim Burton would be a great choice as well.

i love spielberg- and ALOT of people snob him off.
he is a great story teller, and if you walk in at any moment of one of his films its very hard to walk away.
though i really really dont get your LOTR hate pr2. Nearly every scene is golden.
i say it comes down to taste, not quality.

"SOme of u might disagree, but a movie isn't meant to be truthful but to affect us on some level emotionaly, for me LotR failed to do it. "

hmmm I like Spielberg...
pr2 did you read the book? The movie really isn't faithful to particular things but on an emotional level I think it compliments the book nicely. I have a feeling it hit my eye dripping meter so hard primarly because I've read the book.
Just curious... are most people who're praising this readers of tolkein?

I can't stand the books. But I loved the movies (so far).

Peter Jackson is a great director, if you have seen any of his other work you would know that (dont just diss him based on LOTR) which I think is great as well.
plus he is a fellow New Zealander, REPRESENT!! :P
Incase someone hasnt posted a link to that trailer that leaked (?) here is a link...

LotR is our generations Star Wars.
The movie is full of love.
The incredible amount of detail, the dialogue, the actors, the sets, the minute details.they BUILT the Shire!
I don't think any other director could have done this because no one else would have the overwhelming love and obsession.
They didn't CHOOSE Peter jackson.
HE chose to do it.It's a monumental and dangerous undertaking because of the Tokien fans.
Not to mention compressing 3 huge books into 9 hours.
You lose Peter jackson and you lose WETA
WETA is by far, the BEST cgi company out there right now.
they're surpassed ILM easily
ILM has just been griding their gears on this crappy Star Wars junk for the past 6 years.
No other director could or would have done this. Period.
Peter Jackson did it because he is insane.
ROTK will win best picture. period.
- quamb0
rotk hopefully will win best picture.
though am thinking if mel gibsons 'the passion' is released before nominations, it will skew it all up.

pr2 official asshat comments of the day....
next time why dont you recommend that Aston Kutcher play the role of Striker
pffft
great movies all around

"They didn't CHOOSE Peter jackson. HE chose to do it. "
Good point cinder, I'd forgotten that jackson had run around for quite some time trying to get financial backing from movie companies.
"Not to mention compressing 3 huge books into 9 hours."
Luckily (if you're a big fan), the extended editions on dvd should push the movies out to over 11.5 hours! (I know some of you will think this is crazy, but for me this is great.)
As for Star Wars, if only Lucas had let someone else with a passion for Star Wars and getting things to remotly match up with the original trilogy make and manage the movie.... eh I can only dream. Maybe EP3 will be better...

You know, I thought Star Wars was for my generation. Ok so I was born a year after Star Wars. But still.
