erm - terrorists have been blowing up building in London for 30 years or so.
insidentally a lot of the bombs the IRA planted were funded by contributions from american citizens... oh the irony

do your police even carry guns yet? apples and oranges.
- unknown0
nope and long may it stay that way.

a pub being blown up and 2 huge skyscrapers are entirely different, kezza. I dont want to argue with you.
- unknown0
erm they blew up a skyscraper too

Cut it out.
This 'my bomb blast is bigger than yours' talk isn't very intelligent.
- unknown0
didnt think we were doing that...
just pointing out terrorism should rule your life
- mrdobolina0

damn, guess I was kindof a young buck when that happened. well here is a bit of an explanation that might help you understand why people (excluding me) might have thought it was terrorism. The shit was all over the news yesterday, thousands of people crossing all of the bridges in NYC on foot. the visual was very reminiscent of sept. 11. Granted it was a knee-jerk reaction for anyone to automatically think it was terrorism, but it was a freaky sight. Also, I dont think anyone in the states was aware that all of their power grids were inter-connected like that. Also, the US media constantly is saying that electric power (amongst other things) were targets. Hope that helps you get it.

I'm in Toronto, and I was in the heart of downtown when the power went down.
That was some scary shit.
We were up high in a building, and were listening to the news on a portable little radio. No one wanted to say it, but we were all thinking the same thing: September 11th all over again. When we heard slowly but surely, every two minutes, that a new city -- further and further south -- didn't have power, a sinking feeling grew in our stomachs.
I got power back up at around 1:30 am, after a few candle wax spills and tumbles in the dark, but it's amazing how much technology has taken over our lives.
Kudos to the pedestrians who took up the task of directing traffic, and to those citizens who gave them water and umbrellas to shelter them from the beating sun....
it was an amazing scene.

only 3 people died in the bombing of the office building in london 10 years ago. i'd say he only gets about 1/1000th of it.

fuck you.
terrorism isnt about numbers its about fear wan*er
- bmehalo0
not an alarmist , but when i heard about all the people on the bridges and in the subways, i prayed that there wouldn't be some fucker sitting around with a backpack bomb waiting for a sign from allah, thinking this was it, and taking off for his final commute. heard how they've already had previous attempts by some arabs in brooklyn that were narrowly thwarted.
- bmehalo0
yo- stop with the bickering. remember the real fuckers here are the guys blowing this shit up, regardless of how many people died the bottomline is none of them deserved to. remember that you don't need to act like victims. the enemy of my enemy is my friend. hoorah u.k. go u.s.
- k0na_an0k0
whoa. easy tiger. weren't you just saying a few threads up about not living in fear? true terrorism is terrorism any way you cut it but there is a HUGE difference in these two scenarios.
obviously you still don't get it.
try this.
joe shmoe kills one guy. so he's a murderer.
jack shmack kills 1000 guys. he's a mass murderer who has affected 1000 times more families and friends.
huge difference.

how many people are required to die before you have a right to be worried?
- unknown0
that really is such a base argument...
im not getting into an argument about mines bigger than yours etc...
I was caught up in Manchester when they blew up the town centre... as were my friends, so don't fucking tell me about terrorism you cock, I know.
terrorism is all about creating fear, notting being fearful of terrorism is a completely different argument.
jesus some people.
