So I'm taking a two month trip to Southeast Asia.
I think I'm going to start in Central Vietnam > Cambodia > Thailand > Peninsular Malaysia > Singapore.
Anyone been there? Anything you wouldn't miss? I think I also want to take at how much it would be to live there, maybe work in Sinapore 6 mo of the year. Anyone tried it? Doing It? The American dream is more like a nightmare.

i did the all thing : se asia..
Vietnam is lovely : I loved the center : China beach and the little coast villages
Laos is gorgeous : Vientiane is a quiet lovely town, the night market is something u don't want to miss,
Thailand of course .. everywhere apart fromt the tourist dirtholes like phuket..u have to go to Angkor trough the Siam reap airport or from vietnam by bus from Saigion and then by boat : this is probably the most exciting visual experience i ever had
pnmh penh is a very interesting capital too
for an island trip if u can : phillipines offers u the most beautiful beaches around : Boracay etc..

I was thinking of going back to Vietnam to live/work. Maybe for a year or two. But what you have to remember is that your 50K a year job here is worth 12k over there. Of course everything is relative.

Thanks.
Just so things don't get repeated. Tenatively thinking of hitting (Vietnam) Danang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Saigon/Ho Chi Minh, Mekong Delta to (Cambodia) Sihaounkville, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap/Angkor, Battambang to (Thailand) Ko Samet, Bangkok, Ko Phan Ngan, Ko Samui to (Malaysia) Penang, Kuala Lumpur to Singapore.
Kind of a lot to do I think but I move pretty quickly. Can't wait. As far as work, I've heard there are decent wages in Singapore, as long as I don't live there I think I'd be Ok. Just try to go into town a few months out of the year. Or maybe fly back home who knows.
Anyone know if foreigners can buy land anywhere over there? , Or how it works?

I was in Phan Ngan and Ko Samui in June - had a great time, not much happening on phan ngan, mainly pretentious traveller types showing off their celtic tattoos and comparing highly exaggerrated drug stories whilst simultaeneously hiding their public school upbringing. Ko Samui was great especially as it was quiet season. Avoid a town on the mainland called Chumpon, its shit. Thailand is cool.

Have been to Kampuchea (Cambodia), quite cheap and nice girls and food. Ventured into Singapore for a week as well on a friend visit. Very clean, don't litter, you'll be sorry, hee, hee also nice clubs, chicks and food. You can find work actually fairly easy in Singapore. I almost stayed and worked there then, but instead moved to Finland. Was in Thailand for 3 days, nothing special if you ask me. ;)

I'm from Sarawak, Borneo Island. East part of Malaysia.
U MUST visit the Mulu Caves in Sarawak if you like nature and experience the tribal cultural we have. Stay one night in the Long House.
Forget about penisular malaysia if you're just going to Kuala Lumpur. It's almost like Singapore except you can chew gums.:D

Thanks for the input.
I had done some research and found you could get some land in the philippines, about 35K for 7.5 acres on the beach. Unfortunately I can't buy it. Trying to find some places a foreigner is wanted.
As far as my trip, I'm trying to figure a way to extend it. Maybe I'll just skip out on KL and Singapore and head over to whatever I can see in the Phillipines or Borneo, or maybe drop down to Bali or something, but that's pretty far off. Thanks for all of the advice and well wishes. I just bought myself a Powershot S400, if it doesn't get lost or stolen I'll post some pictures when I get back.
