I'm going to be in nyc this weekend for the first time, can't wait. what are the absolute must-see events going on, the coolest places to be, where to find good thrift shops, music, art, food, etc.

i like the bronx zoo, museum of natural history, met, and guggenheim myself.

i always love hanging out downtown - esp in the east village. just soaking up the atmosphere, smells, colours, noises, people, food etc etc
can't wait to go back.

Check out ALIFE, etc. Can even hit up SwishNYC. So many cool little design boutiques are springing up in NY.

the circle line tour is pretty good - it's a boat that takes you right round the island - great for a bit of history and admiring the architecure.

Now, the PRADA store--that is a fucking interior design experience. But roam around Soho, you'll find so much cool shit.

I decided to take off from Boston College after three years and study at Pratt instead. BC had a great Comm. program but it was all theory, I wanted to study Art Direction. In any event, I absolutely can't wait to live in the city come sept. :)

there is a free music fest in Coney Island happening Saturday called the Sirens festival.
for bars, I hang out in east village, lower east side and brooklyn.
for shady trendy indie dancing you can go to Lit, Trash (at Riffi), black and white, and adultworld on fridays and TISWAS (at Don Hills) on saturdays.
