I used to go to Jackson Hold and Targhee every weekend..
There is tons of shopping in JH so bring your bucks.. also do some night skiing on the other smaller hill in JH...
and while your at it... jump around the mountain and hit http://www.grandtarghee.com/
they are rated 1 for powder every year..

didnt read thru the other posts, but my thoughts on the south east:
it is hot. not a clean hot, but a very wet and gritty kinda hot.
the scenery is beautiful, the cost of living is pretty damned low (which is nice), the women are beautiful (in the cities).
lack of education is a problem in rural areas, thus you might find some racism and sexism more there, but cities arent too bad.
some cities are nicer than others (as with any place), but if you stick with the larger ones, you will do well.

I'd say the city itself is what you make of it... a solid community of familyand friends far outweighs having a ski slope next door or a chic address.

still stand by my previous statement. Boston is full of lame (or vary lame people), the last time i saw so much lameness in oneplace was whene i watched WB News (New Yorkedition though...) then again my view of thatc ity might be slanted because i stayed mosty aroud Northeaster University where EVERY girl and EVERY guy look the same.
Go NY, even thoug you have complete dumbasses anchoring the news you can still find cool people.
