go freelance. it's like one big holiday.

well, you know, it's a different mindstate as well. i mean, i have three weeks plus a year working in the us at a job for just under three years. we don't get harrassed over much at all and i pretty much like to show up to work. i can't even use all that time (but i will). I guess that's the dividing point between the Widescreen U.S. and the Letterboxed Europe.

I don't dount roberto...i am probably going to have to swallow my pride - and don't get me wrong because I would for the right company - it's a principle thing though. If I am going to be working a whole year making someone else money (aswell as myself of course) then I want atleast 4 weeks of 'me' time. you know what I mean? I don;t think that's too much to ask....fucking work...pppffftt

working sucks, point blank. Might as well be happy. BUT, I have been gouged on flash work by guys in India who would do the work cheaper and faster. Those guys have absolutely no concept of what a vacation is.

the director of this came and spoke with me and a bunch of my friends last year sometime... he seemed to really hit everything right on the head about the subject.check it out
if americans had the same amount of time off as most european countries we'd stop working in late october and have the rest of the year off.

This is the first year I get 32 days. Unfortunately they count also saturdays so it translates to about 5 weeks off. 2 days to go!

the first fulltime design job i got out of college has...:
15 days off plus
xmas-new years off ,
all the major holidays off,
and two sick/personal days....i now know i am damn lucky....

ganon - when you say xmas/new years off what exaclt do you mean? do you guys have boxing day (day after christmas day) as a public holiday? and new years day?

no national health plan either.
And university costs at least $100,000.00 for 4 years for an average art school.

this is amazing...I just had no idea..why do you get so little hoidays in teh states? what is with the 'kill yourself doing overtime for no pay ' work ethic?!
