i think there is a Tour for the ladies...
i think they have it after the men complete their race.

i've never heard of Ladies Tour. I wonder why no one watches that. thanks.

How about that Tyler Hamilton today?
Fifth American to win a stage.

I'm so happy for that guy. It's good that he got a stage win, 'cuz it doesn't look like he'll get a podium finish.
BTW, *6th* American to win a stage.
- gfro0
right 6, thanks.
Great tour. And Jan thinks he can still win it. It's going to be an intense time trial coming up.

they're making an IMAX movie about tyler while the race is on.
they should be loving it: (cue voice-over and inspiring music)
dude gets hairline fracture in collarbone early in the racce (day 1?), yet continues to race this epic 3 week test of endurance despite the debilitating pain. up and down mountains and time trial stages without help from team mates, and to top it off, snateches a stage victory from the jaws of death (poetic liscence). what a guy!he has done well tho'......
good luck tyler.keep on peddlin'

Armstrong wins too much, get's boring
- gfro0
It's not for everyone.
Armstrong may win the overall tour but remember there are 21 races in the tour. He has only won one so far this tour.

gfro, that's an interesting way to phrase it...
And so what? He's got the best time overall. I've always felt that the overall winner needs to win at least one stage.

i can't really get into the the tour de france...not enough action and excitement to hold my attention.
but now this lil story regarding the tour is right up my alley...Dave Watson, freeride mtn. bike legend jumps a 45' gap over the road and a group of about 12 riders during a stage of the tour, read more... http://www.nsmb.com/shore_news/t…

question, Lance is only 1min and 10 secs in front of Jan Ullrich. How come they are saying that Lance will be the winner? can't Jan pass Lance during the race??
Or does lance have a 1 min head start?
- unknown0
I think because the last stage is considered ceremonial and riders aren't supposed to challenge the yellow jersey holder in it.
:P
- piperboytoy0
Really that sucks for Jan ullrich.
- protoculture0
It's not because it's ceremonial, it's just that Jan won't be able to gain back that 1min deficit because Lance won't let him. If Jan attacks, Lance (and his team) will bust their ass to make sure he's right behind him. All Lance has to do is stay with Jan, and he wins...
That, coupled with the fact that the green jersey is still up for grabs, meaning the sprinters will want to take the stage, and they'll chase any attack by Jan too.
- unfittoprint0
1m deficit is a lot of time to gain in a competition like the Tour de France. Lance will certainly win.

How nice to hear the United States national anthem in the heart of France!
