greed!!
and what did the kid do wrong? it's the people sharing the files, not the one offering a tool for sharing... damnit. you need to review your laws in the US.. this is just ridiculous, and that's an understatement.
so,
Die, RIAA, die slowly and painfully!!!

Yeah I was just going to post something, but now that it's in Pink it's even better. I agree 100% RIAA are bastard MOFO's. They are so damn full of themselves! Grrr!

i heard the story at slashdot... someone even mentioned "corporate slavery"... because that's what riaa is doing for the boy... they twisted and bended the laws so much that we returned centuries...
now, think about it, if you could buy music from the web (in fact only itunes allow tihs, and it's fairly new), would you better grab the music for free and use the money to help chewplastic?
video killed the radio star.

"would you better grab the music for free and use the money to help chewplastic?"
hell yeah!! help the kid!!
damn, shouldn't we start something? a riot?
is this were civilization is going to??
taking a students 12 grand for building a search engine?
motherfuckers.
I think i will send them a mail with some sweet words in it.

stop supporting them. Support the Artist by going to concerts. And speak up about it. The sooner we get the power back the better off everyone will be.
If your not upset about anything, your not paying close enough attention.
- unknown0
i guess just a banner with
"grab the mp3. donate to chewplastic"
with a link to how and why to ppl copy the code, is good enough.we're designers, for god's sake.
but u better make it annonymous, and state u are no filiated with nththe boy or any parts involved, etc (i guess he has problems enough!)

the only music I buy now is on vinyl. the rest is downloaded, baby.

Artists should just sell their own music through the web. Put the squeeze on the recording industry themselves. The music distribution network is making more money than the artists. That's so backwards.
- kpl0
oh crap.. those riaa spooks are everywhere... shit. um.
JUST KIDDING! I just bought my fifth britney CD today.

the RIAA has never been there for protecting the artists rights, they don't give one single flying fuck about them, they're there to protect the rich record-companies, typically American.
sorry, no hate against the US, but it's these things that make me want to fly over and beat the crap out of those GREEDY corporate basterds!!!!!

"Artists should just sell their own music through the web. Put the squeeze on the recording industry themselves"
WORD! And I'll be glad to help build a site for those artists that dare to take the initiative!
Kill the greed! Enjoy the music!
Feed the artist, not the corporate fuckers.

no, ticket sales and shirts, stickers, etc. should be their only source of revenue.
you can't lock the digital medium and you can't stop people from sharing the files. selling songs might work if they are very cheap, but people would only buy them as a convenience or as a method to support the artist.
this will carry over to movies and software as well.
the riaa will go down. it's inevitable.

the RIAA should go down!
damn, this got me pissed! nice way to start the week!
I'll think of something, maybe a general anti RIAA-banner we could make..
hmm..
I soooooo want to see these guys go down!!!

"and what did the kid do wrong? it's the people sharing the files, not the one offering a tool for sharing... "
Tommy Chong woulda loved to use that excuse but unfortunately he still had to close down his online head shop and the headz that used to buy are still smokin'.

"the RIAA has never been there for protecting the artists rights, they don't give one single flying fuck about them, they're there to protect the rich record-companies, typically American"
WORD!
fucking RIAA pieces of shit...I swear it took me an hour to simmer down after reading that...if I lived anywhere near their offices i would seriously think about doing something that involved...
a) buckets of paint

the only way to bring down the riaa and the labels in charge is to stop buying cd's and stop going to concerts.
the fact is, that supporting any band on a major label will only cause this crap to continue.
as much as you want to help out the artists you love, it has to be a full boycott.
then, and only then will the corporate organizations find out, and only then will artists find out that they need to be on their own.
don't forget, a lot of artists support what the riaa and labels are doing here...it's not just them...it's the mainstream bands too.
you can't half-ass a boycott and expect it to work out in your favor.

"the only way to bring down the riaa and the labels in charge is to stop buying cd's and stop going to concerts."
Stop going to concerts? What does that have to do with the RIAA? You should stop buying the records, but NOT stop going to concerts. Buy merchandise, go to concerts, but boycott the records from the major record companies...
Me, I've got no problem with that, since I generally don't listen to music from major record companies. Not because I'm boycotting, but because the music I like is released on small independent companies... The ones that release music idealistically(sp?) and with more objectives than solely economic profit.

America is bloody letigous (if I spelled that correctly), sued that Kid for 12K, WTF!! :(
- ok_static0
damn those corporate bullies.
- unknown0
I'm not even surprised.
The RIAA is doing more work to stop file sharing instead to embrass the medium and do something positive with it.
I refuse to buy anything coming from major record labels since the napster killing and I will contiune to do so.
As it have been said here. Support the artist by going to their shows. Most artist who are on a major label get their money anyway no matter how much their album is selling.

"The RIAA is doing more work to stop file sharing instead to embrass the medium and do something positive with it.
"FUCKING WORD!
my observation too!
