yeah skate shoes. but even skate shoes with peoples names on them just don't seem right.
i'd like to see who gets the Nike Lebron James website.
- srvollmer0
You should see all the billboards that Adidas put up to get LeBron to sign with them. I live in Akron, OH, where he goes to high school. I've seen him play and he is great, but who gives a shit. No one deserves to play a sport and make that much. And I hope that cleveland doesnt get him in the draft. They should ship his retarded ass off.
However, on the other hand, the only reason Nike pays their people this much is because we consumers buy their products. The only way to put an end to this is to stop buying/participating in their industry.

You know what pisses me off the most about all of this. There are about a million guys and girls out there just as good as the pros who would play the game better and for free.
Go to a minor league baseball or hockey game. Those fuckers play so hard because all they want and live for is to make it to the show.
Professional sports make me sick.

actually i did publicly complain about the amount of defense spending by the us government.
on our talk news radio station here in columbia, they had a government official talking about all the budget cuts happening in missouri...
people were saying they should cut some spending in government offices instead of in schools, roads, etc....
and the guy was like, "oh yea, what gov. office should be cut...because we need them all.."
and i called in and asked why need to keep uping defense spending when it only took us a month to mop up this supposed threat?
there is no fucking reason to spend anymore on military. if you trace the path of military spending and current economics, we begin to see the formulation of an entirely military state. think about....keep dumping money into the military, soon enough if anyone wants a decent job they would have to join the military in some way....
kind of a sneaky little plan...
:)
we don't need half of what we spend in defense...and how quickly and effortlessly we have dispatched the last few "threats" is evident that we could cut defense spending and use those dollars in better places.
but, then what do i know...i'm just a computer geek.

the sad thing about the defense department is that they can't account for over 1 trillion dollars. thats right, 1 trillion.

to me it makes Lebrons contract kind of reasonable.

What a bunch of whiny haters.
Are 60,000 people gonna pile into an auditorium to watch someone teach or clean up trash? Are those same people going to be influenced by that teacher or janitor to buy a pair of shoes?
No.
So let the kid enjoy his money, he's got the talent. Don't be mad because you can't play ball good enough to get cash like that.
- shant0
And jeez you anti-war people will use any thread now?
"I've got a question, my movieclip's alpha won't tween."
THATS BECAUSE OF BUSH'S WAR IN IRAQ AND NO DEATH FOROIL.
give it a rest.
- Nirvous0
Would you be saying the same things if it was a homeless man complaining about how much food he could buy with the price of your car or stereo?
It is simply a larger degree of difference. If Nike couldnt afford to pay him 90 million then they wouldnt, but they expect to make a profit and its worth their risk. Do you hate on your friends that make 200k a year? Whats the difference? Stop whining about the haves and have nots. Im happy for him.
- BonSeff0
im just saying he hasnt played ONE nba game yet, the fucker is still in HS.
Kobe doesnt make that jack
its ludicrisp

" Im happy for him. "
how can you be happy for him?
like he does give a shit?
sorry, 4cY is in a bizarre mood today, no offense meant... ;)
- Nirvous0
Thats a strange response.
I am happy that a black kid only has to play a game for spectators and will never have to worry about his bills again and take care of his family if he wishes for the rest of their lives.
Dont be an ass.
- IRNlun60
you give it a rest shant. it was in reference to an earlier post.
jeez, all you pro-bush people thinking an accounting post on the defense department is being anti-war.GIVE LEBRON MORE!!!DAMMIT!!
- sparker0
i never said i was anti-war...i am anti-useless spending.
the war itself didn't bother me...some parts did, but not it.
:)
it is amazing how much emphasis and fake respect people put into 'famous' people, yet don't care about others...
the teacher that can enrich a persons life and make a better society is defunct instead replaced by a figurehead of useless value....the world wouldn't be different if basketball didn't exist, yet, if education is neglected then we might as well go back to swinging in the trees.
kids in missouri can't even do proper math anymore...a new, "easier" system had to be devised because they didn't understand basic things like long division? how pathetic is that....but people place so much into a basketball player?
and some wonder why our society is so fucked up.
hm....
i'm all for paying players...reasonable amounts.
minor league players get a normal salary, and they still play their hearts out. why should majors be any different?
i guess the real problem isn't the player himself, it is the screwed up social climate. people have no fundamental priority of importance anymore.
it's sad.
- shant0
for the record i am not pro or anti bush.
- Nirvous0
No basketball for OIL !!!
