go straight to ATA airlines, you can get tickets on there early for very cheap, they have nice planes, most are new, and they fly to most airports as far as I know. IMO the best airline for the low price.

well, not sure about europe. Might only be here in the US. I know they fly to some islands, and Mexico, but not sure about europe.
Isn't there a new airline in the UK that is really cheap?

newquay-london stansted (inland flight - but they do similar prices all around europe - you just need to book at the right time)

a friend of mine had a pretty shitty experience with expedia, so i would check there last.

anyone ever use priceline?
im just wondering if it is pretty reliable. cuz i just enterred in all the info, set my price and dates and now it tells me that it wants my credit card info.
once (or if) an airline accepts my offer for a ticket, it automatically buys the ticket and it is non-negotiable. it is permanent and that ticket cannot be refunded or anything.
so if youve used it and it works well, then id like to hear it. cuz anything that is THAT set in stone frightens me.
thanks for any help!

and what if i find a ticket somewhere else. is it possible to cancel my request?
see, that could fuck me up completely.
damn. why's it have to be so damned hard?

Placing a bid with priceline is basically buying a ticket - once you do it you're agreeing to pay when they find one at a price you selected. If they can't find one for the price you selected then you don't have to pay.
I'm not sure but if you find a cheaper price then they do and can prove it, they may match the price.
I never used priceline but have friends that have. It all sounds a little scarey to me. I'd pay and extra $50 just for peace of mind in knowing what I got.

I've done 2 of those Stansted - Newquay flights for £1 each way plus tax... great except that both times on return I waited 2hrs and 3hrs respectively to pick up my baggage, which consisted of an entire eastpack rucksack, by the time I got the train back to Liv St station and then back to hackney it would have been quicker and about the same cost by train.
Still, flyings fun!
although I do enjoy doing multiple visits to the buffet car on trains to check out ladies and spend $ on grossly over inflated cans of stella and 'sweat in the bag' burgers.

I think a lot of these problems seem to be at stansted - and ryanair seems only partly responsible - I have flown quite a few times between bournemouth and frankfurt /hahn without any such problems ... I always arrived at least 15 mins earlier than expected - but everytime I went to stansted there's been delays
