i respectfully disagree with you robert.
i think that it is a valid question/topic.
it is somehting that we are all concered by. and it is good to know what others have gone through in case it does happen to you.
what your legal options are, or if you even have any.
my silly bullshit in this thread is not worth reading, but i do think that if someone wants to share so that this doesnt happen to others in the future.
again, not to argue. just my thoughts on it all.

extremely long article, but completely relevant to what you're working on.
have a read... basicly it's what happened to exador, but instead of thermasilk, it's coca-cola, and there's some dispute over who actually OWNS the coca cola copyrights now (possibly the shafted designer).

Bio is only nice to me cause I bought his artwork...
I have since photocopied it and I am selling copies on Market and 5th for $2.00 each..
Wow I made $100 today from your print alone. Not to mention the warhol that im selling for $4.00...
No on the real... stealing for profit is bad.. but copying to learn is a good thing and I tell my Jr College students to do it all the time. So put that in your pipe and smoke it!
just my 2cents

Bio:
Didn´t have time to spend with it...
Sociality, life... Design is something relative to human surviving, not to what looks "nice", to somethink that turns the Human existence SENSE, it help us, give some life advises, give us somethink NEW, the inspiration... you all know;)I didn´t learn about those who spend there lifes copiyng the others, not stuff, but content..,
That's what i've to say about it:)

Thanks for the responses so far. If anyone else wants to get in touch, feel free. .
FWIW, I do think this is a viable topic (erm, hence writing a piece on it) although the odd negative comment is to be expected. I wrote a piece on piracy for the now defunct Cre@te Online about a year ago, and while most people were positive, there were a few _very_ hostile response, which surprised me somewhat. Oh well.
