Hi. I go there every summer. I advice you to visit the "typical places" like Tour Eiffel, Louvre, Notre Dame, Versailles, La Defense, etc, of course, but I think the real Paris is other: Latin Quartier (barrio Latino) near Bvd Sant Michel, Music shops, Les Halles, Montmartre/Sacre Coeur, second-hand book and record shops also in Bvd Sant Michel. And an essential bar: Buddha Bar (8 Rue Boissy d' Anglais). Amazing... Enoy in Paris. I'm sure you'll do.

Louve - check out the mona lisa there - it's amazing to see such a famous painting and realize how un-special it is ;)
Also check out the McDonalds near teh arch of triumph - the only McD's in the world where the front of the restaurant is all white ;)

go to the Louvre, but cut straight to the african/oceanic art section/exhibition - mindblowing!

I don't remember exactly the prices. I think it's not cheap, but neither is so much expensive.

i really liked trekking around the back streets of the bastille - get a lonely planet guide for sure. the most recent one. - then dig into the cool shops and galleries in the narrow grubby streets in the bastille - if you want to go more upscale head over to the marais - some great stuff there too.

go see that big metal tower thing, build by that eiffel guy or something. i forget the name of it. also... from watching the teli i understand that wearing a berret with "rusty" on it get you chicks. but beware. it also kills dogs.

Must visit also the bar at "Le Ciel de Paris", the highest buildinr in Paris. Wonderfull view of the city. Floor 58 or something like that. Above the bar, there is a roof terrace, but you must pay and there's nothing to drink... Best the bar.

oh, also, when ordering a burger make sure you order it with a nice big side of "freedom" fries. then ask for some extra ketchup with my "freedom" fries. oh, and make my "freedom" fries krispy please.
they'll like that.

We meet again!
I was just there with my girlfriend for a week in February, it was winter and kind of cold but there was something kind of nice about that. Less tourists.
We stayed in Montmartre, a few doors up from the cafe in Amelie, and a block up from the Moulin Rouge (this was just coincidence, not planned.)It was the best time I've ever had. Definatly go to the Montmartre area, it's got a charm to it. Go to the Sacre Coure at the top, excellent view of all of the city.
The Catacombs are pretty interesting, underground, the bones and skulls of about 3 million Parisians, it's erie.
Check out the Foundation Cartier, it's a contemp. art museum. The Louvre was incredible, and I second that the Mona Lisa is the most boring thing you could see in Paris. Go downstairs to the part about the building of the Louvre and the Midevil castle it's built on.
Notre Dame-do not miss. I can't think of a way to describe it in one word.
Take a river boat cruise on the Seine, most are available near the base of the Eifel Tower. There's so much we did, so much we didn't do. It helped that I had two years of French in college and also two in high school, my girlfriend had it in high school as well. I'm already wanting to go back the same time next year. Nothing could replace being there for the first time though...

The Pompidou is the ugliest structure of any sort, I have ever seen. God awful.
It's inside that redeems itself.
D'Orsay is beautiful...
