We meet again!
I was just there with my girlfriend for a week in February, it was winter and kind of cold but there was something kind of nice about that. Less tourists.
We stayed in Montmartre, a few doors up from the cafe in Amelie, and a block up from the Moulin Rouge (this was just coincidence, not planned.)It was the best time I've ever had. Definatly go to the Montmartre area, it's got a charm to it. Go to the Sacre Coure at the top, excellent view of all of the city.
The Catacombs are pretty interesting, underground, the bones and skulls of about 3 million Parisians, it's erie.
Check out the Foundation Cartier, it's a contemp. art museum. The Louvre was incredible, and I second that the Mona Lisa is the most boring thing you could see in Paris. Go downstairs to the part about the building of the Louvre and the Midevil castle it's built on.
Notre Dame-do not miss. I can't think of a way to describe it in one word.
Take a river boat cruise on the Seine, most are available near the base of the Eifel Tower. There's so much we did, so much we didn't do. It helped that I had two years of French in college and also two in high school, my girlfriend had it in high school as well. I'm already wanting to go back the same time next year. Nothing could replace being there for the first time though...
