The first newtown site was all done with pics from image banks. It was done by http://www.republik.ca (back when they had a cool website too) and it was rather cool.
If one of you is the guy or girl who did their pink site and the one with the little cartoon character, email me so I can email you back a long email of praise and admiration.

it use to be about the design man, what happen.....hay we are all in search for a break, if it does not pay but could lead to some big things take it, now DONT do it for free, but that does not mean you cant get something out of it, free passes, club shit you know, but whatever you do do not give them a copy of the files, just upload it and show it that way, cause of they like and keep yand dont let you design it yar phaked

your over reacting and its making you sound like an amature.
Just show him examples of previous work you've done, tell him WHY he needs you, what you can do for him, how you will do it and do up a quick homepage design.
thats a demo. A demo is not a full working site, also, go to flashkit and find a nice nav system and tell him that you will be doing something similar, but betterIt is that easy.

i been in practicly in exactly the same situation few years back!
once again revamped club "needed" a website and so we went to do a work for them. my partner must I add at that time was handling all the discussions, etc and over few months it didnt move anywhere, so i got sick of waiting on him and went hard at them...
week later the site was up and running, I handled all the domain set up, hosting for them.. at the end I got fuck all money for the work I did considering I did 98% of all development.. and after I didnt really wanted to deal with my partner anymore on the business side of things.. and friendship gotten worse too!
// another advice.. dont always do flash sites! you can design a perfectly beatifull html website with a great clean design and layout...
first its about design and not some technology wing bang! only a select few flash sites deliver great results.
if you still in partnership with your partner, give him a call and arrange a meeting with the client. if the Club is expecting a free design mock ups .. in your turn you can expect a lot from them too and make them work for you!!!
get architects scetches on a cd that the club has probably got, and find out all the information thAt they will require on the website. be really firm with them!
"If you want this, I need this" approach! Here is a date when I expect to recieve all the information/ content from you if we wont recieve this info by this time we will charge you for the work that we put in. Sooner or later you will have to have a contract with them of some sort, right? Start one early!

Hmyeah , well , i admit i over reacted , I was just pissed , and i dunno , had a bad day and i dunno... sorry for acting like that :/
Anyways , me and my partner are best friends for life , but we fight alot :) .
So , im going to do a little something to show it thursday, tried to look for pics on image bank and didnt really find anything cool , soo ill just... do without it , dont really have a choice :P
Sorry to bother everyone :P , when i think about it now , its really kinda dumb :(

instead of doing a demo, use other peoples club sites as examples as what could be achieved.
