"MITSU >> you are a sorry excuse for a designer,"
wow, i could have sworn we've never met.
"I would bet you are unemployed"
not at all.
"spend your time on your masterpiece which is basically a rip fo the 2a"
i don't like 2a's style.
"you try and get involved in every rip thread, defend the rip to try"
yes, because i think people are shouting rip over subtle similarities that could, for as far as anyone knows, be a paradoxal coinicidence.

fine, i respect your opinions but i do not agree with them. I have been designed for Sony for almost 15 years, and I have learned a thing or two. One of those is morals which seem to be absent here as there seems to be just an abundant of people with a lack of creatvity and respect for design.

it's funny how you start with personal attacks after every post that disagrees with yours. Respect for design maybe, but you've obviously never learned respect for people.

"I have been designed for Sony for almost 15 years, and I have learned a thing or two. "
good for you... now learn tact and respect, and how to communicate with people and respect their opinions, and you just might fit in around here.

"people with a lack of creatvity and respect for design. "
Show us your work cos so far i aint seen anything that suggests you are creative. Not even an image to go with your name.
And 'respect for design' ...screaming 'rip' is so professional.

• BluejamYou guys are kids. Sorry but you are not even in the same ballpark as paid designers IMHO, and im not here to discuss my view with kids, if your 32 or 28, you have the creativity of a 14 year old by expressing your view on design in this thread.

I wouldn't buy a Sony tv!
- Bluejam0
"and im not here to discuss my view with kids"
Good.
Comeback when you got something worth while to share and please, bring some of your design work to the table.

i don't see how someone can ask an opinion and then freak out when people don't agree with him. Is that the sign of a mature designer?
If you have all this experience under your belt and think that there are "children" here, why not try to "educate" instread of making personal attacks?
And lay off the Hostile Flakes.
go ahead, rip into me now since i dare say something against you.

hate these rip threads but fuck it it's been a long day:
gotta say butler that i find your views narrowminded and rude, especially for such an apparently experienced and open-minded creative that you claim to be.
my opinion is that the design is not a direct rip. i could explain further but do not feel the need to now.
suprisingly for you it seems, i am employed as a senior designer for a large organisation, although i am not so keen to name-drop, and have an extensive formal design training.
i don't believe i have enough information to draw a valid opinion on your design skills, but as for your personality, i think you quite comfortably fall into the 'arrogant tosser' category.

well, it appears it's all subject to opinion..
Everyone can agree that when someone directly steals images or coding with images, it's a rip. No one disputes this.. the grey area is when everything is re-created..
Me? I think it's a rip.
Just because they recreated everything they saw "on their own" doesn't mean they were just inspired. It means they were staring at FI's site trying their very hardest to take that look and feel but adjust it just enough so people wouldn't call them on it...
if they have the skills to recreate it as well as they have, then they should be able to open up even a second web site in their browser and mix and match their theft.

under the table mitsu!!!
no one messes with my boys.
- Butler0
ok.
- jpowell0
the issue being over looked is originality and the designer.
shouldn't we expect more from ourselves? who wants a site that looks like something else?
don't we want original solutions to our design problems?
- jpowell0
a writer doesn't quote Shakespeare and say it was "inspired" by him.
this is plagiarism. shouldn't we expect the same from our industry?
- Butler0
yes!!!!!!
- unknown0
yes but if someone writes in a shakespearian style they are not accused of plagarism.... I'm sure my layout and colors are being used somewhere else on the world wide web on the millions of websites out there. Think to yourself, has there even been an original idea in design for ages? I don't think so....

I got dibs on orange and helvetica.
if any of you uses them, you are ripping me. be warned.
(hey, mitsu and mayo, is there some room under the table...?)
