Elektro, he's also responsible for Harry Potter. Tho, isn't he getting a little formulaic as well, nowadays? It's hard, i guess, to stay original over time.
I mean, ET, Indiana Jones, and Superman all sound slightly similar...

what about donnie darko? or pi?

I liked the last tune in donnie darko, and the track out of requim for a dream but the soundtrack is never the same without the movie.
Human Traffic's soundtrack is a good refernce for dance music revolution

dance music "evolution" not revolution, sorry

Well, I'm a huge Williams fan (I also like very much Basil Poledouris, Jerry Goldsmith, David Arnold... but Williams is at top of my list). All great composers kinda "repeat" themselves a lot, but that's nothing bad for me. You know, if it works... ;) Haven't heard any of the two Potter soundtracks as long as I haven't seen the films, but the music Williams made for Catch Me If You Can was top notch, maybe his best among the last ones, and not the usual stuff (at least for the most part) that you'd expect from him. A very cool and jazzy soundtrack indeed. It should have been at least nominated for the Oscars, as well as the movie, but that's another story (the lame Academy's story) ;D

john williams music sound similar because its his particular style, just like how we can tell certain people's website between another

I though this was for best soundtracks not scores. There is a difference.

Well, most of the time being it the score or the songs most of the CDs refer themselves as the movie soundtrack ;) So why not choosing a score and a songs soundtrack like I did?

4am has a point, if we're talking about scores, then i would swing away from movies...but we're not

Requiem For a Dream... and also a lot of Howard Shores work. Gotta love him...

Exactly. And everyone who loves scores gotta dig his style. He's still the best at describing any type of emotions through music. From epic fanfares to themes depicting inner feelings of a certain character (like the Binary Sunset piece from Star Wars). He's the master, The Force is with him! ;D

yeah yeah yeah...
trainspotting i noticed was missed by you guys. such short memories.speaking of that, did you know Ewan McGregor's face is plastered all over billboards in Japanese trains. Except he has these scary white teeth that look like someone filed them down and he's been airbrushed big time. It gives me the willies.
But besides that i like the sound track!
