Im a fresh, confused, lost soul bursting from the loins of college with an advertsing design degree. Ive been interning at a large, international ad agency and im not very interested in their office politics and blatant misuse of aesthitic principles. If anyone is familiar with ad agencies or even design groups that would cater to my interests in communication design please, fill me in. sank you.

What you have described is what you find at most large agencies. Unless they have an innovative management structure (i.e. Ideo, St Lukes) or even a strong creative leader, to fight back the bureaucracy, it will always be much of the same. Large nasty clients like to go to large nasty agencies. You might find yourself happier at a boutique studio.
Try going on informational interviews or even talking to people at events like AIGA receptions. I've had lots of success cold calling studios (even offers) but I always lacked in the schmoozing department.
Blah.
Good Luck.

go inhouse, find a good company, take it easy. the only way to be happy at an ad agency is to open your own

I really like TBWA and Ogilvy. Still office politics, but both very creative.

I've been working in advertising for 4 years and I tell ya its evil, eeeeevillllllll!!!!! The only piece of advice I will give you is do your research of the company check out their clients! The better the clients the better the agency. We have pretty low key clients and a lot of the stuff we do is boorring!!
