Actually, I am amazed how the auto design goes crazy about.... nothing! It's pretty scary to see some new cars on the streets here. Volvo, Ford, Land Rover, VW - all are super bad. I don't know what are the designers thinking there, but they probably aren't paid for calling themselves "a designer", like the majority does in webdesign (ho ho).. Anyways, the few, like Saab, Bimmer, Merc, even Mazda manage to keep their monsters in the garage and let the beauties out. Audi is good. Really good. The latest A8 would be my favourite, if I had that much money and a different occupation. A4 Cabrio is my favourite cabrio of all times. Too smooth to be true. And then look at VW Touareg or upcoming Golf V. Scary!!
Every brand has its minors as well. Like TT. I was only once inside the car and I will never get inside this toy again. Feels like it lacks "ages 8-16" on the door...
The new Bimmer 5 makes the old Bimmer look outdated, though the BMW I see on the streets right now are absolutely not that bad. 3series is great. 7series look so different, that one may think it's a masterpiece. The new Z4 is cool (Z3 sucks, word). I think, we now see how BMW slowly but surely leans to the "bad guys" side. Merc wins again, damn it.....

Yup, the current M3 is my dream car (then the 911 Turbo, then the Marcielago...) and the current M5 is snazzy.
I don't understand how they could have let it slip like this. Mercs have been making better looking cars and continue to impress me year after year. The SL 55 is mighty nice. But in all reality, the Mercs are significantly more expensive to get one with any performance.
Hopefully it will grow on us a little, 'cause the engineering, performance, and ergonomics are second to none.
Oh, they are 'designers', what do you think they call themselves, 'car makers'?!
That was my dream before architecture....if only Maya was around back then. Damn.

Personally I think the M3 looks like a 3-series on steroids, while the 3-series ist just boring, and it looked old even when it was new.
Z4's are starting to show up on the streets, looks much better IRL.
X5 is just silly looking. I'd never buy that even if I could afford it.
7-series looks great, but only with dark paint.
New 5-series: looks ok, but I dont like the air intakes under the grill, the headlamps are a little too stretched out to the sides and the booty is too thick.
Looking forward to the 6-series.

Yes, the old M6 was great.
The idea of the M3 is a 3 series on steriods. That's exactly what it is, as are all the M cars (similar to AMG, but it's all in house). The Motorsport division, I believe.

So that brings us back to the S-edition of the *real* cars then.
You know what I'm talking about.
Quattro GmbH. Mmmm.Let's just hope the Pike's peak hit the market some time soon

I'm not so sure I'd even think about an Audi TT...
... but the new A3 looks pretty sweet...

I agree with Stylejunkie...
I love those old 2002's. Once I was in Nice (France) and I saw a bunch of them all set up for rally racing... I swear I had an erection when I saw them...
I'd buy a couple of those, and one of these:

A 72 or 73 Moto Guzzi El Dorado.
However, I think as far as new car design, Alfa Romeo in my opinion is doing some beautiful stuff...
look at the new GTV:

Damn just call my shit silly looking! I personally love the X-5 shape look and all. It s roomy, designed well, curvy, handle excellent, corners like its on rails, drives smoove, excellent features and since i owned a "boring" 323i before that I got a almost fully loaded car minus bike rack, cd changer for great price. I test drove a tti when i was turning in my 3 and the x-5 drives smoother...hands down.

I hate SUVs in general, but if I had to get one (and being temporarily in CT my 300ZX doesn't exactly cut it), this is what I'd choose:

but the X5 is one of the better looking ones out there now, at least.
