the website, www.digifad.com runs a script on their main page which steals your clipboard data. this is a dodgy, shady thing to do and that it's purposefully hidden from the visitor.
they've recently been stepping up getting traffic to their site by getting interviews from people (myself included). i was not aware of this shady practice until today, and while i've told them it's a messed up thing to be doing, i figure you all deserve fair warning.

why would they care whats on my clipboard.
sounds stupid.

people leave anything from passwords to internal company communications in their clipboards.
- unknown0
some people copy and paste passwords, credit card numbers, things that they may use on a daily basis. Personally I never copy and paste any information of that nature, but alot of people do.

that sucks...
- mitsu0
copy the following text to your clipboard before going there:
"fuck you"
- unknown0
does microsoft know about this
is there a patch or something
- unknown0
we should all go there and purposefully put "stop stealing data you loser fucks" on our clipboard haha
- ribit0

- unknown0
i have been hitting refresh with some nasty crap on my clip for a while
- jevad0
thats fucked up - how'd you find out?
- vena0
go to Internet Options, Security, Custom Level, Scripting, "Allow paste operations via script" and set it to prompt.
- mitsu0
copy some test text to your clipboard and then go here:
http://www.digifad.com/clipb.asp…
append this junk querysting to the url and you'll see your clipboard data briefly:
?asdf=asdf

what's a clipboard?
- jevad0
fuck me old boots!

- ribit0
sounds like this capability would be switched off if you have your settings at 'Medium', not 'Custom'... Is it?
- jevad0
nice one mitsu
- vena0
no, it's enabled by default at medium security.
- ok_static0
clipboard is where your computer stores your cut/copy text or pics.
- piperboytoy0

- vena0
