Censorship in America

it's my understanding that the fcc is the only organization not held accountable for violations of free speech. It's in the law books somewhere.
The stations aren't exactly censored, it's more of a technicality. They can broadcast the "bad words" etc, but they will be fined by the organization which governs the broadcast.
This goes the same for radio.
For this reason, the companies who run the stations don't allow the people who run the shows to include these "bad things" so they will not incurr fines and whatever other actions the fcc feels necessary to police their airwaves.
According to law you are free to say what you please.
As far as the tshirt incident, as unfortunate as it is, it's a similar technicality. The owners of the estamblishment felt the patron was not adhering to their 'rules' and he received a trespassing charge.
Regardless, I still love it here.

As for TV censorship - I think that censorship focus's too much on language and nudity and pays far less head to violence in North America
you can't see a nipple (god
forbid) and you can't say a bad word (how scarring) but you can see some get shot or blown up on Real TVanother thing i find funny is there's a station I watch that plays movies and sensors the bad words but they often bleep the wrong word when it's part of a phrase
for example you'll here "bleep fucker" - like mother is a bad word or something

yeah, they censor the shit out of us here! during last months peace march in nyc, the nyc police were able to stifle the crowd into complete submission... i predict if and when the war starts there will be violence in the streets of the US because people have had it here out govenment has run amok... i'm not too proud to be an american right now, thank goodness i'm mexican-american, i'm at least half proud...

gelund, you need to watch what you say mate. If you don't enjoy the freedoms given to you then leave. I hear Scotland is taking people due to their low population go there and complain. Don't talk crap about a country in which relatives have died for YOUR freedom.

PS, not everyone in design has to be liberal either. Some people need to check themselves before they start speaking about issues they have no idea about, except for what they read and see from CNN.
