word up on dreamweaver and fireworks combo... i only use photoshop if i really need to get in and tweak the shit out of something. fireworks has come a long way since 2.0... i used to hate that program.. now when i have dreamweaver open i also have fireworks. Fireworks is the best for exporting stuff for the web too...

How many times do I have to go over this. DWMX's code editor is pulled directly from Homesite, I work with an author of many Macromedia Dreamweaver books. I also understand that Homesite can be bought seperately, but since Macromedia now owns both of them they use Homesites code editor in DWMX!

Straight form the book,
DWMX The Complete Reference:
By: Ray West & Tom Muck"It has been Macromedia's goal to encourage users of Homesite and ColdFusion Studio products to make the move to DWMX as their Primary coding environment. That goal meant that macromedia had to address some serious issues in the programs code editor. Dreamweaver now ships with HomeSite+, which is a hybrid of HomeSite & Coldfusion Studio."
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

Ehem. Well Im not trying to look like a bad ass, but I didn't think certain fellows understood what I was trying to sya. Basically the best code editors in the world (available for web design) are all owned by one company. This company with it's newest & greatest product ever has combined all necessarry & Needed functionality from the others and stuffed it all into one little box that says MX on the front!

Peternorf, do you work for Macromedia, you sound like one of their drones.
I agree DWMX rules but have you actually had a look in depth at what the others can offer? People just seem to cuss what they dont know or havent tried.
I have luckily had the time to learn Golive as well as Dreamweaver and I can safely say if you are building non complex, non dynamic sites it is twice as fast and drop and drag interface is fantastic. My sites always seem to look better graphically when I use Go-Live, I think its because their is less clutter and I can see my designs more clearly.
So there.

Asking a web designer to use Frontpage is like asking a print designer to use Word instead of Quark!

The comparison between Dreamweaver and FrontPage is like comparing and Porsche to a Ford Pinto.

Ferraris and rollerskates will both get you to where you are going, one of them does it bigger and better and faster though......

I need to rant - I WANT TO KILL THE MD's SON - the fucking eedjet saved originally fairly crap html through IE5, then edited it in Dreamweaver - and it looks like it's gone through this process about 3 times. HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE IT IS TO EDIT??!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!
Only 6 more pages to go.
twatmonkeys.

programmers and myself here now refer to frontpage as...
the F word.

First HandCode so your not confined to these WYSIWYG programs, then I recommend:
DREAMWEAVER!!
Someone said NEW Designers use Dreamweaver? The program has been around for a while now. Was Frontpage around Decades before Dreamweaver or somthing.
I am sure the Bill.G Computer Monoploy Machine will get his highly paid programmers to build a Frontpage with all of Dreamweaver's style and functionality until then I will be using Dreamweaver.

i believe you are refering to my comment and i said "new designer era". probably b/c every person that i have ran into that is in their 30s and not with current affairs insists on using frontpage over dreamweaver.

dreamweaver leaves frontpage in shit. photoshop and dreamweaver is a perfect match

I just wanted to confirm that I said I liked working in Notepad best only as an attempt to discredit tfsmag.
