trying to get new software, eh?
Dreamweaver

negative. i use dreamweaver and photoshop. my dinosaur of a boss uses psp and front page. our programmers here bitch about it constantly b/c they code in ultradev and when they pull a template from front page into ultradev, they get yellow error codes all over the place b/c frontpage is not W3C compliant. im merely trying to prove a point that the NEW designer era is DREAMWEAVER AND PHOTOSHOP...for the most part.

...can your boss' Apple IIe handle Photoshop and Dreamweaver?
- unknown0
no but his commadore 64 can.

i used to work in the university webteam at my last job.
i had to teach Dreamweaver and Photoshop classes. you wouldnt believe how many poor dumb bastards out there use frontpage.
you had might as well use Netscape Composer to make your websites if you're gonna use FrontPage.
Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Imageready (or Fireworks). yehaaaaw baby!

anyone using GoLive?
I am, but thinking of jumping to DW... it's just all the Actions n Components n stuff that I will have to convert ,and lots of legacy content with GL code in it that I'll have to watch out for.... hmmm...maybe I'll stay on GL...

actually i use GoLive. I've used DW as well, but didn't like it as much (although I don't have the latest version). I particularly had problems with the way DW manages the site with that "check in check out" feature. At a studio I used to work at we used it and it people were overwriting each other's work without knowing it. It would sometimes allow two people to save the same file at the same time and everybody's machine in the fucking network would crash... including the client's tech people...
I still have nightmares about it, but I figure there must've been some odd circumnstance that would cause that 'cause everyone else seems to like it.

with dreamweaver and photoshop i can rule the world! i will name my new world baiter.

hey buddy, lets stick to topic here. im out to prove a point!
;o)
bio...i agree.
did i mention my boss likes to design at 1024 x768 as well?
- k0na_an0k0
i am sticking to the point mrguybelowthemasterofbaiter. photoshop and dw are THE design tools.
now, back to my master of baiternessing.

i wasnt directing that to you TKo_kn0Kout
- unknown0
dude, whats wrong with netscape composer?
- lifeinsodium0
here, where i work, they, the evil bastards, wont buy me a copy of dreamweaver.
so guess what i use?
- k0na_an0k0
whoa, that's it, i'm chaning my name from kOna to TKo_knOKout. that's so cool.

H O M E S I T E
all together now.....
http://www.macromedia.com/softwa…
what was that old wood allen saying ...??? those that cant do teach and those that cant teach use wyswyg?
- unknown0
bottom line is that macromedia products are W3C compliant. FrontPage is not. lets not stray from the question at hand. if you were on a planet that only provided 2 html editors (frontpage or dreamweaver)...which would you chose?
- chilaquil0
Shit... remember pagemill? I used that a long time ago. Then I quit crack.

what's dreamweaver?
what's frontpage?
mx all the way. because it's easier to read your code. after frontshit, you can't read anything and makes updating really a pain in the ass.
plus the power of templates in dreamweaver for clients that don't know how to code.

I'm forced to use frontpage as our FTP client by a legacy sytem introduced by my predecessor - the fucking twat. Godshit, I have never used such a pile of crap before - it almost seems comical using it solely to upload Homesite-spawned code.
Can MSoft really not do anything right? Word, Powerpoint, Windows, Frontpage - they're all really shit - you'd think we'd've learnt by now.

Dreamweaver = the mutts nuts
FrontPage = bollox
