What do you guys think of our first ad? I'm in the process of working on the second one right now, I think I'm going to go with more of the style that you see on our index page http://www.invicid.com
Like always, love hearing your opinions. Thanks Everyone!

want my honest opinion?
pink = gay
sorry!
:)¬

ilustation looks very 80's?

i think it's pretty tight man. if you're worried about the pink now go with a blue... but i dig it as is.
only gays themselves think pink = gay.

don't go blue - save that for the corporate stuff. pink and grey eightilicious perfection.

ya, Im into pink right now. We were trying to revisit the eighties a little bit, but with a modern twist.
The pink is staying though.

Colour combo is an oldie but a goodie. illustration scream 80's fashion school so if your going for it youve got it.

sorry but I really dont like the illustration of the man - really eighties looking and his heads somewhat "oh I cant draw heads I'll just scribble like RAAAGH"
and there's nothing wrong with pink - I'm wearing lovely pink trainers - and guess what.. I'm not gay! - woohoo I like ladies.

Nice illustration, but hardly an ad. There is no message or call to action.
Better pick up a good book on advertising and branding ;)

thats our point man.
- gradiate0
ambient media i believe its known as. creating a feeling without ramming messages down peoples throats.

i second reluct's point...needs some type of message...right now its just a nice visual.
as nice as it looks i don't think it is a very good advertising piece.

I like it.
I also think the illustration is a little off, not quite sure what it is that I'm not feeling about it.
All in all great design imo.
Real Men Love Pink!

I think you need to have a recognised brand before you can go to that more subliminal level - I cant really see people looking at the ad thinking 'oh, I like that pink man, I must visit the site"
- reluct0
Ambient media is not just advertising without a payoff. It's also meant to communicate an idea and to make people buy your stuff. You just don't say it with so many words.

"sorry but I really dont like the illustration of the man - really eighties looking and his heads somewhat "oh I cant draw heads I'll just scribble like RAAAGH" "
Do you live under a rock? Hand drawn is bumpin, and as for eighties, well I'd be less than honest if I didn't say my velour kitty tracksuit is my most treasured clothing possession at the moment.

it would also be a good idea to put a ref code on it and something like an incentive driven feedback form on your site that helps you to track your ads success - that way you can tell whether its working and in which publications.
Helps you target better next time.

I personally would be much more likely to check your link if I saw that in a magazine because there is no message.
Though some of your actual audience (people looking to buy shirts, posters, etc.) may look over it.

vespa - coming from australia youre hardly one to talk about living under rocks.
lets not talk fashion shall we, i think its a waste of you time.
;)

i agree. it looks good, but it lacks a message. i'm a sucker for concept driven work.

If that was a big poster in one of those lit side panels on the street in London people would read it. In fact there is stuff like that there now.
Your audience is quite a media savvy type who doesn't want to be over marketed to, isn't it?
