Personally I'm pretty tired of Verdana. But if you like it, I say go for it.
I'm really tired of people talking shit about Arial without studying the details. I'm not saying Arial is the perfect font, I'm just saying that it gets more shit than it deserves, and Helvetica gets a LOT more credit than it deserves.
You should get Frutiger. That's a nice font for body text.

Right off the bat, the icon looks like masterbation. What about extending the microphone & have the hand holding it below the baseline of the text? That way you can get a nice, slender "I."

ooh! i had an idea why not make the mic real simple (still leaving in the hand and the silly ring nonsense) but make the mic head all black and seperate from the handle, then have a cord coming out of that makes up the other letters

whoah! I have to say that article's tone has given me a whole new perspective on arial, i hadn't used it for ages but now I'm gonna put it on everything :)
I don't think i've ever read a more manipulative and pompous article in my life.

use helvetica instead of Areil... its hard to tell the difference but there is just enough to make it much more appealing

looking good - i would tighten up the kerning on "basic" and then heighten the letters on "productions," as well as darken the yellow colour. top left version is pretty close to what i'd present.

I know the story of Arial, and I know all there is to know about Helvetica, I just don't agree that Arial is such a bad font. It's good for it's use, and if you can make something look good using Arial, what's the problem?
Don't pick on Arial just because it's Arial. There's a fucking large movement out there of übertrendy young designers with the impression that Helvetica is "the shit", and every other font is crap. But you have got to remember that whatever the name of the font, if you can use it for something good, it's all good.
Arial is a decent font, even though the Microsoft terror regime put the thing into this world. Helvetica is a decent font too, but some people seem to think Helvetica is the only font there is.
I've read that article you linked a few times before, and although I enjoyed it, I don't agree that you HAVE TO use Helvetica, since Arial is a cheap offspring of it.

yeah i agree with abizzyman, 'fraid it looks a bit sexual.... you got a tough one with them wanting the hand/mic IN the title. you will definately have to keep it proportianate, and very simple.
i can't help but think it's gonna have to be done another way.
