questions for all you tattood.
i just got minei think it's too black.. when will it fade a bit.. ive seen people with light complexions with slightly faded black tattoos that look much nicer. this shit looks like it was drawn with a black pen.
and also i want to improve it a bit. can anyone recommend any REALLY good tattoo artists in the nyc area? the one i went to did this quite crooked.. what do you think?
thank you indeed.

one thing you could do to make it look better is get the whole pec around it done up. What's up with this little ass tat? If you are gonna do it, go all out.
It will fade a little. If you just got it done, of course it will be dark. Especially if you are keeping it moist like you are supposed to. After a couple of weeks you will see it start to lighter a tad...
there are tons of really nice tattooists in NYC. I go to Chris O'Donnell at New York Adorned. ( http://www.newyorkadorned.com ) I dont think he would work on your existing tat though, he only really does large pieces. But you never know.
Sleeve it out!

There are no rules. "If you're going to do it, go all out..." is crazy. That's what I thought ten years ago and now I totally regret it.
By the way, people do everything they can to avoid having their tattoo fade. Not sure why you want it to look faded. But, since you do, go sit out in the sun every day for hours. It'll fade pretty quickly.
Other than than, not much else you can do. It's a bit late to turn back now.
I personally like them pitch black. Looks nice to me.
I've had one that covers my forearm for about 10 years. It's black work too, with very, very thick lines. It's now faded significantly, looking now more like a dark blue-grey. I'd love to have it redone, but it's not a priority. I hate this faded look, though.

sun exposure also makes a tattoo fade. basically do the opposite of some of the stuff they tell you to do to keep it looking new.

Too Black?!? Damn wish I that problem. Living in the beach weather 24/7 I have had 2 of mine redone twice to counteract the fading. You want it to fade. Let it dry up and then go get a tan. But if you ask me...the dark green/blue of a faded tat looks like ass.

Is your tat supposed to look like the L from Laverne and Shirley? Im not being funny...thats the first thing I thought.

its not nice? :(
- Nirvous0
If it has meaning for you...dont give a fawk about what I said...it's just the first thing that popped into my head.
If it fades you will want it dark...dont try to speed up that process.

what a horrible feeling to dislike a tattoo after its done
how are tattoo removals these days? leave any scars?
- Nirvous0
Its cheaper to get a cover tat or have the original altered. The laser removal process is around 1500k and hurts like a bitch I hear. Wear it for a few months before you kill it though.

you seem to know your shit.
if i want to improve the lines.. can it be done easily?
because the curves are just a tad bit crooked.. and too THIN
- Nirvous0
If its just the curve you can have someone redo the outline for you. That was the little needle that jurt the most (if you remember). Go back to the same person and show them...maybe they will do it for free if they feel it was bad. If not...go somewhere else. You might have to wait a week or so til it is healed though.
