hey lee, that archive's excellent. was level from the guys who did skateboard, or am i misremembering?
for whoever asked, you can buy holgas from:
you can get them elsewhere online for as little as $13, but everywhere seems constantly sold out. ebay usually has them at around the $20 mark.
i disagree with scarabin that lomographers are all trying to copy each other, but i don't know why people are dissing him for calling lomos 'instant-art' makers. that's what they're designed for.
with a regular camera, you can go out and shoot a roll of 36, and if you're not careful about what you do, they'll all turn out bad.
with a lomo, you can go out and do pretty much what you want, and 15 out of that 36 will look stylish and the average person will be impressed by them.
that's what lomo is all about - forget about all the exposure settings, forget about composition ('shoot from the hip') and just leave it up to the camera to make your subjects look good.

thanks CAJTBr. i should really put my lomo shots up on my site. i've only got about 5% of my work up there.
Level is(was) from 4130 publishing who also do the bmx mag ride, document skate mag and dirt the downhill mountainbike magazine.

here's a good place to get all kinds of toy cameras. this link will take you past the horrible flash intro and straight to the toy cameras...

wow i never realised that, lee, and i've done a couple of little things for document in the past.

yep, the noble brothers are good people. they're still hands on with most of the publications there, especially ride (cause they do).

CAJ- an slr is great for what you mention, a lomo is also great for what you mention.
though "just leave it up to the camera to make your subject look good"? i wish baby.
if you want to stick to the lomo society 'shoot from the hip' marketing campaign, go ahead. Though just as any other camera, why follow trends?
i sure as hell use my lomo just as i would my slr, just when dicking around isn't an option (ie, out and about, hanging out of car windows, camera in the pocket etc etc).
seems some people can't get over the 'gimick'...
