thanks crab :)
much appreciated!
along with those, i also read a TON of euro comics growing up..
ike Moebius and Phillipe Druilletbut somehow i have a feeling my wife won't dig those as much as the other kids books...
;)still..i credit the kids books for giving me a love of reading
and the euro comics for giving me a love for art and design...after all this time, i still can't understand how anyone can like north american comics in comparison to the stuff the stuff these guys were doing in the 70's

hey Ex
I think U should keep those comics for when the kid is a bit older.
U are totally right, guys like moebius, Tardi, enki Bilal rock bigtime.
Moebius is the creator of a scifi world reffered to in tons of movies
( from 12 monkeys to Event horizon) the guy has been a major influence

when i was 8 years old my aunt gave me a book called 'Something Queer is going on'. It was about this girl who loses her dog and has to figure out where he went.
Well I had to have my parents give me this new definition of queer.. so once they explained that is basically meant 'odd or strange' I began using the term constantly.
Eventually my parents had to come to see my teacher about it.
She was quite queer, that teacher of mine.

reminds me of asian people feeling offended by the word funky in the sentence ' funky men from funky chinatown' from the hitsingle 'everybody is kungfufighting'
they had to explain funky is a good thing, that it doesn't always mean 'smelly'

Hey...a ways back, like 78 or 79, maybe sooner, there was this weird childrens book. It was illustrated and was about an evil snata claus with a team of elves that would loot houses all over the place. I remember the sinster grins on their faces in the illustrations but not much else...including the name. Anyone remember anything like this?
