developer: xml, dtd, lotus domino, delphi [pascal], actionscript, perl, python, css, xhtml, javascript, php, sql, lsp...
actually, i tend more to the information architect, data architect and network/system admin [aix unix, linux].
i am learning opengl right now.
i have programmed both firmware and software for enterprise level corporations in the industrial manufacturing arena...
i have also worked as a industrial designer for a playground company.
but, i haven't been a designer for years now.

heres my skillset.
paintshop pro(advanced), gif animator(advanced), vegas video(beginer), front page(intermediate), swish (for my flash intros) java,(beginer)javascripting (beginer), html (intermediate).
i also spit some 3d shit with cool3d and poser.

I'd say both, with the job market heavily taking advantage of what programming I do know. I'd say I'm about 70%/30% right now, slanted toward design...
...but I'm building a full CMS in ASP or PHP (client needs to decide quickly) that will serve as a great wake-up call for my programming skills. Of course, I've been lucky enough to also design all the interfaces so I'm pretty full-circle.

mine says i can design buildings...but i design networks and databases instead.
there's not really much difference theortically. it's all space, volume and structure when broken down into fundamentals.
