I will of course keep everyone informed, QBN

It's not for me, but apparently there's a worldwide shortage of /teachers/ right now, even in the US.
So, if you think teaching could be your schtick, it's worth a shot. You're almost guaranteed a job.

boomcrash. come to europe, our food is better, if you don“t like the kind of folks; you can be sure that the next small country is completly diferent. AND the women are so much more beautiful :)

I reckon you need to move away from being a total hands on designer and into a Creative/Art Diretor role. It's alot more interesting because you have control and do the fun part of thinking of cool things to do. I'd rather go back to being a postman than be a MAC operator or straight forward graphic designer.

for those that are considering a job as teacher, my advice is to really think about it...
my wife is a highschool teacher, and while she loves the job, she's the first to admit that it's a shitload harder than most people think...
it's a TON of afterhours work, week in, week out...thinkabout it...average of 3 classes a day, that's 25 odd kids a class marking all their crap everyday,
on the bright side of things, she says when you know you've really reached a kid, and they suddenly 'get' it (whatever that is, math, reading, science, languages) it's the best feeling...
and watching them go from snotty lil balls of aggravation in grade9 to those earnest 'im going to college next year' grade 12's is great....
anyhow, she loves it, but thinks that it's a tad lopsided...the actual 'teaching' part of the job is only about 40% of the work...the other 60 is marking, red-tape, forms, office drudgery and politics...but hey...
the loads of vacation time sure do look good eh?anyhow...the teachers life, atleast, is recession proof...no layoffs...
and THAT would be nice to live with...

oh to hell with teaching high school, i'd want to teach at a university level. i've already taught a few night classes, it was pretty cool.
