I sent went to the MT contact page and ask them if they could sponsor me, not reply yet. I wonder how many request do they get?

godaddy? man, i went with them for a bit, i hated it, i don't know abtou media temple, but i'm thinking of going with dreamhost, my buddy has been wiht them for 5 years and he says it great, damn godaddy has kinda limited database stuff, which can suck, the only thing that dreamhost is missing is ASP but oh well... yeah godaddy is great for registering domains since it's ceahp but that's about it... poo

media temple? hmm. I checked em out but they're expensive and you don't get much space or features for your cash. they have cool marketing but who cares if about that shit. I got the sickest deal with featureprice.com 200 bucks got me 4 domains, 5 gigs of space (per domain), unlimited traffic and 99 emails per domain.
at first I was a lil suspicious but I said what the hell, 200 bucks a year? No problems so far.

I've heard good things about Tilted Planet as well.
As for me, Dreamblue hosts Le Projet and An Examination of a Career in Journals and Lipstick.

"my clients site is slow as shit on their servers. i kinda hate it."
i had a client's site on media temple as well, and it was like molasses. i have since set up a reseller account with another (and better) hosting company and things are back up to speed. I also had more downtime with MT than any other host I have been with, and at a higher monthly cost. All in all I think MT are more hell bent on world domination than on providing a good service.
"...because they give shit hot service"
perhaps to stereotypography, but it wouldn't surprise me that they make sure their big name sites like NT and ST have a sweet connection while giving the shaft to the suckers who are shelling out money.
MT = great marketing, that's it.

In my experience, which I'll argue is considerable on this matter, the number of things at any given point in time that can make a site respond slowly is enormous. If a site is slow to load, it's possible that your hosting company has a problem on their end. It's also possible that your ISP is having a problem, or that a router is down, or that a DNS reload is happening at that moment, or that your ethernet card is chunking.
The point is that it could be a lot of different things. And most consumer level operating systems don't come with the kinds of tools that you need to figure it out accurately. Even if you do have the diagnostic tools available, sometimes you still can't tell.
I use, endorse, and like (mt) because I have found their technical support people to be the best I've come across. They know Linux, and they know their systems. Whenever we've had trouble here at NT, I've gotten correct answers and fixes for our problems.
Any ISP is going to occasionally have a problem of some sort. So for me, the most important thing is knowing that the people in charge of fixing those problems are top-notch.
