Tahini is my new favourite thing.
I used to buy it to make houmous and would do a few batches, get bored and move on and then it would just sit, a half-empty jar lonely and unwanted at the back of my fridge, before a clean out a year later.
I've gone through a whole large jar in a month now. It's great with chicken, it's great with salad, it's great with mayo as an earthy wetness to sandwiches.
Any time I snack, I hoy a glob onto the side of my plate and by Jove, it works with near everything.
- Never tried it other than in houmous. Cheers for the tip!mort_
- yup. i like it better than hummus. you use the raw version or make it?renderedred

- Oh yeah, stoplying, do MrT's then, as that combo is divine. That said, I now want to try tahini and butter on toast... .Nairn
- @rend - might you be able to get 'fresh' tahini where you're at? Not sure how much difference it'd make, mind:)Nairn
- @nairn, you can, of course. but there is no difference.renderedred
- what we call tahini is tahini sauce of any kind or variety. then there's halwa of course. and raw tahini.renderedred
- Halwa paired with a medium strong English cheddar cheese is a combination to die for. I say 'paired', i mean sandwiched like a mad GodNairn
- don't start me on halwa :)renderedred
- OK, halva and cheese has gone on my to-sandwich list. Cheers!MrT
- woah, just to be clear - I sandwich wee morselets of halva and cheese. An entire sandwich worth would probably leave you catatonic.Nairn
