    My career as a designer.

    Been out of work since June 2024. What do you think I can do for the rest of my working life (15/20 years)?

    • Maybe plenty of jobs but even more applicants. Been looking for something new since March. Getting interviews and making it to final few but not the final cut.microkorg

      but thankfully, a good buddy of mine that's a project manager had recently moved to work at a local electric utility ...

    • i was talking to him, and got an offer to join him there as his UI/UX guy...contracting, but it's full-time contract, and he has YEARS worth of projects coming.exador1
    • so that's worth exploring...not sure where you are, but look into gigs at unlikely places like utility companies, medical companies etc...exador1

    • I completely pivoted ~8 years ago. Started saying yes to any “building” work. Ended up making sets for SNL and other shops, & now run the floor at one of them.hardhat
