Why are foods so goddamned salty now?!?

I just had opened a bag of tortilla chips, ate about five and I might as well throw em out. Tastes like I’m eating pure salt

    • try them with salsaShenanigansTV
    • I was having them with salsanb
    • The same at restaurants... More salty, more tasty?OBBTKN
    • makes you drink morehans_glib
    • Because people like me kept writing to companies asking why they were increasingly replacing salt with sugar, and please stop it.Nairn
    • I’ve noticed this at Mexican restaurants too .. the tortillas are way too salty.Ramanisky2
    • True at restaurants! But not just Mexican food, it’s almost everywhere I go just sooo saltynb
    • Often with mass-produced food, that salt is added to mask lower-quality inputs (like corn, wheat). But it is out of hand.nb
    • Even “low-sodium” versions of foods are too salty. So my only option is no-salt tortillas. I want to taste my food!!!nb
    • Now a days it’s like “hey excuse me but, can I get some tortillas with my salt?!?”Ramanisky2
    • I find it disturbing that a plain can of soup has like 80% of sodium in it. And the low sodium version is still got tons. Wild.monospaced
    • You are eating pure salt. That's garbage food.CyBrainX
