evidently, the french door on the back of this house was seized for so long, the previous owners only built steps going down one of the doors.
well, no more.
after excessive lubricant on the slide, removing the hinge pins and top bolt, i rotated the door on that rusted bottom slide bolt until i heard it give, then used a pry bar to get the slide moving up.
now, i get to build stairs wide enough for both doors while I hopefully replace, but more than likely rebuild, the lower slide mechanism.
i can't believe the small molded plastic handle that is supposed to slide that gnarly thing up was somehow already broken. ah, mysteries.
